@strutaeng thanks for the tips! I think a few signals go into the cab for the instrument cluster. Was that a PITA to get those fished out? How did you do those? I'm wondering if a person could just install a connector there to avoid taking the grommet apart.
I called my favorite junkyard. They...
Yeah I may have to buy a used one and clean it up. My truck has lived it's life in AZ... It has almost 270k miles on it now. I never have completely removed my harness, however, I rewrapped a bunch of it and cleaned it up. All the wire insulators are melted together, and it's really ragged. Some...
I don't know if this will work... but you maybe able to go near rear bumper where the high and low pressure lines go to the evap and do a superheating test there. The touch test I recommended. Mine are exposed just inside the fender behind the tire (below where evap is in rear air system).
Sounds like maybe a TXV valve issue. If you replaced the rear evap, did you put back the bulb sensor / install the bulb sensor? It's connected to the TXV valve.
First check.... Remove the rear cover and check the inlet and outlet on the evap. Once side will be ice beer can cold. The other side...
My harness is starting to have issues. Evap is doing weird things. Also when I'm tuning data I notice the Wideband won't read same as PCM unless I tie the grounds together. I think it maybe time to get a new engine wiring harness. Anybody know a good deal for decent quality? I see them all over...
There's a linkage. Pull the trim / molding off the inside of the door. I recommend a plastic tool (not screwdrivers) to pop the plastic clips. The linkage is broken in some way.
Probably a good idea to go to junkyard and pull the guts from another one. Then you learn before you work on yours...
I don't like to hook up gauges if I don't have to. This is something the FSM won't explain but is VERY helpful. I like to check super heating and sub cooling first. You can get a quick IDEA of what maybe issue. A good AC tech will start by checking temps. It's a lot quicker and more effective in...
Do you have rear air?
Would you be replacing the air handler under the dash too?
They sell kits on Rock Auto that are full rebuild of hard parts (minus airbox).
Word of warning though. I bought one and the condenser was all beat up so I just left factory condenser in. I think factory came...
I believe your brake lights are separate bulbs. I'd test them in another fixture / vehicle to see if it's really the bulbs. Otherwise, I believe there's a brake switch for the lights and of course the wiring. Try another bulb (just get a cheap one) and or test those in another fixture first.
Or...
Ah cool. May still try a additive cocktail. Actually, you typically have some gas in the exhaust stream that doesn't get burnt. I presume if the cats get too hot then carbon can build up/ soot if not flushed out w/ a solvent such as gasoline in the COT routine the PCM runs. Don't take my word...
I don't have a welder. Really just looking for cleaning ideas here. I've gone that route before with good success however, I want to know if anybody has tried cleaning the cats.
Yeah kind of what I thought. If you have big chunks in cats then there's no sense in cleaning them but no way to easily tell unless they get pulled. I turned off COTs in my tune so maybe worth running a tank every now and again with a catalectic converter cocktail myself. That CataClean seems to...
I got a small project with a friend. He is throwing catalectic converter code P420, if memory serves me right. His symptoms also seem to align with a plugged cat. Not sure we want to delete them as I've found backpressure is highly tuned on modern vehicles. I got WAY worse power and gas mileage...
If not fuses, you may like to do some sort circuit check to see if connection is made when you select the left turn signal using the multifunction switch. I have similar issues w/ my Corvette that I think might be related to the multifunction switch so I have to learn how to test it myself. Just...
