Hi All,

Recently my ABS and brake light starting coming on on my 2001 Tahoe. Had it checked out and was told my BCM was causing the code. I see they make replacements (Delco and A1 Cardone etc.). Are these simply "plug and play"? Don't they have to be programmed to your vehicle? Guess I'm a little confused.

Yes - it will need to be programmed at the dealer. The replacements are usually "blanks" with no options on them. They need to be programmed to tell what features / codes your vehicle has.

The BCM does not often fail. I would follow the wiring and look for corroded/loose connections before replacing the module. Check the connections on the module itself as well. check all known grounds.

How old is your battery?
