Anyone used adapters to put 5 lug wheels on a 6 lug truck?

I'm looking for wheels for my '23 Sierra. I really like the US Mags Rambler but it only comes in 5 lug at 22". Way back when I used some Ford to GM adapters on Big Mama with no problems but I'm wondering about how much 5 to 6 the adapters will push the wheels out and how thick they need to be. I'm planning on using my factory 275 tires. The wheels are 22X9.5. Any and all help is appreciated.

I just moved this thread. We don't have a Sierra section but I think the SUV one will be okay. Unless you have a target section.

That’s perfect thanks. I’ve joined truck forums but they’re nowhere near as good as this one.

Most people have used wheel adapters, usually just once because the wheels inevitably come off when driving; but it sounds like a good idea to most of us at least once

Yeah you’re right. I’ve given up on that idea. I just don’t understand why US mags doesn’t make the Rambler or U111 in 6 lug at 22”. Ugh!

Wheel spacers/adapters can be safe as long as they are properly installed.

Anybody ever watched the whistlindiesel videos where cody had that f350 with HUGE wheel spacers AND obnoxiously wide/offset wheels with big/heavy tires? He jumped that thing a zillion times and beat the piss out of it…the wheel spacers held up just fine.

If they’re properly installed they work great. Just make sure you have enough clearance in the wheel well. If the vehicle is lifted it shouldn’t be a problem. Also, be aware of your state’s vehicle safety regulations. Here in Hawaii there must be at least 1” between the fender and the tire. Most guys out here use fender flares on their lifted vehicles.

If your truck's manufacturer deems the added strength of 6 lugs necessary, then adapting to 5 lugs seems like a move in the wrong direction.

Also, when a manufacturer doesn't sell a product in a certain configuration, it's often because it doesn't think the product, in that version, will sell well enough.

Don’t temp me please. Buying new wheels is a one and done for me. I loooooooove US Mags ramblers and U111’s. But I hear you Joe. You’re right. I keep thinking I’m half my age. I’m too old to buy based on emotion. That never works out well.
