Looking for feedback on a 2021 Tahoe Z71

Looking for feedback. Posted this on a FB group as well and general consensus was “red flags”. Would like to get feedback here also. Because unfortunately in really like this one.
test drove today at a used car dealer in MA a 2021 Z71 with “signature package”. It has everything I have been looking for. The price is $53,869. It has just under 30,000 miles on it.
It appears to be immaculate inside and out. Even underneath hood. The bad side is since 2020 it’s had three owners and this dealership bought it from an auction in September 2024. I currently have a 2008 Tahoe.

should we walk? My husband is concerned about 3 owners in 4 years and how long it has been sitting on the used dealers lot. with the low mileage. Giant red flag. All the owners have been in Massachusetts. Carfax doesn’t show anything out of the normal stuff. I can provide CarFax link if that is allowed.

Several thoughts:

Is the vehicle at a Chevrolet dealer (or GM)? If so, have them run the complete service repair history and show you the printout.

The power train warranty is still in effect, but the basic warranty is expired. If you buy the vehicle, purchase a GMPP. Perhaps have the dealer include the GMPP in your purchase price negotiations.

Do not buy an aftermarket extended service plan. Buy GMPP, which is honored across the country and is well supported.

It is at a used car dealer - - I have the carFax which out of the normal stuff only shows a battery replacement in December of 2024 I believe - which is probably because it was sitting on the lot so long? and frankly the rain/ice was so crazy December - February I know if I was looking for a vehicle at that time I would have not been venturing out. To cold, icy, etc. but that could just be me.

I am not sure if used car dealers do something like the GMPP - so I'm guessing we would need to purchase the vehicle and then go to a Chevrolet dealer directly? or can I purchase online?

will say that there were quite a few random recalls or TSBs for the 2021s, sunroof leaking was the most prominent. Carfax should probably list the recalls....not sure how GM does it, but I'd take the VIN to a chevrolet dealer's service dept (or call) and see if they can pull up any recalls/TSBs performed/warranty work

does it have the 5.3 or 6.2?

and what is the duration between the owners? people were flipping vehicles back during covid and Z71s were easy to buy, drive 6 months and sell for more than you bought it for.

Get the vin and go to a Chevrolet dealer. Get them to run the service history. Car fax is as reliable as the information put into it.

I had a 21 Tahoe premier. 44k trouble free miles when I sold it for 6k less than I bought it for. Replaced her with a 23 Tahoe premiere.

there is a carfax rpt online that we have looked at and there is also one that BidCar printed out for us. No recall work done or needed as far as we can tell.

Thank you - I went ahead and did that and it says "0" recalls at this point in time. so that is a good thing at least!
