CarID shipped me the spoke covers and now they are telling me the wheel is on backorder because B&I doesn't have any core wheels to build. I called B&I and they said the same thing. I asked them if I could just ship them my wheel to have it redone and they said "No, that is not how it works". I said but you guys are going to have me ship my old wheel back as a core so what is the difference?

So I ended up canceling the order through CarID. Back to square one I guess. Craft customs wants $750 +shipping to redo my wheel as requested. That seems kind of steep when the one from B&I would have been around $400 after my core charge was returned.

I am open to other suggestions. At this point I am very frustrated.

How would they know was my point. You could even swap a used one on your truck and ship them your original.

I found a couple of traverse and acadia wheels that look like they bolt right up too. Acadia
Acadia non wood grain
Traverse

Many years ago a member on here made an Acadia steering wheel fit. It was a lot of work and now new ones for our cars are in production again. You can get heated ones without the wood or just regular ones in new condition.

It seems the custom ones are also made in runs but not continuously.

Yeah, the wheel I got for the Enclave could be made to work if the center spline was cut out and the smaller one from the GMT900 was welded in but again, a lot of work. If I had a sleeve that was the right wall thickness, and splined inside and out, as an adapter that would work as well but also hard to come by.

I am currently weighing my options and may end up just going back with the plain leather with the wood spoke covers. I'm trying to not be hasty in my decision as it is a want and not a need.

That’s very odd they would t just let you shop your core on the front end to use; Instead opting to make you wait with no timeline to commit to on delivery and ultimately cost them the order.

I’d be interested in an upgrade to the wheel on my ‘13 Escalade ESV with ebony leather. Not a fan of the leather/wood rim wheel. Would prefer an all leather wheel that was also thicker than stock.

Yeah, I don't understand what they were thinking.
