I got mine wired today. Used the Gen5 harnesses. The hardest part was getting the clip to open to slide the OEM harness apart. So damn simple, one harness per side. Could not have been easier. Rigid Industries Ignite flush mount. Very happy.

Has anyone used the Gen5 harness and also incorporated a manual switch to use as a chase light?

Tell me how you want this to work and then let's discuss it. Gen5 Harness is only good for triggering from reverse. With a relay or a diode, you could also have a manual switch as well. But it would be likely be totally separate from the harness.

So right now I have two chase lights installed and wired into the controller - but I’d love for it to auto turn on also every time I put the car in reverse.

What is "the controller"? Funny, I have chase lights on my Wrangler and use a SwitchPros system, and I have them strobe while in reverse! Can't be too safe.

Great looking install BTW!
