I have an 05 yukon xl slt 1500 with the 3 button borg warner 4482( pic of button select attached). I bought a transfer case (246) to replace the bw4482 because it went bad. Is the 246 compatible with the 4L60E transmission? What do I need to do?

The NP246E RPO code NP8 is what comes factory behind a 4L60E tranny on 4wd K chassis (yukon, tahoe, esky, silverado, sierra, etc.) Your Tcase is a AWD unit RPO Code NR4 which means your Tcase controller, wiring harness and even dash button setup wont be compatible with a NP246E.

A BW4482 which is what you have. They are not hard to get at all. Salvage yards (car-part.com) for one near you or you can have shipped too and rebuilt units all over the net and ebay.

Yeah I have been searching for it but no one really knows what type of case they have. I have pulled up on many of them and they have the 246 and not the bw4482. It's a headache.

If you search for the vehicle being parted out, or the model you need, I'm sure you can find one without too much trouble. https://car-part.com/
