Mystery Mirror Connectors

So I am brand new to the forum and to the world of Tahoes. Just picked up a 2006 Tahoe 2wd with 109k miles and almost (but not quite) no rust, for a really good price. However, it needs a bunch of stuff like a water pump, AC compressor, rear shocks, etc which I have no problem doing myself. The outside passenger mirror is toast, and from removing it it looks like someone replaced the original power mirrors with manual mirrors (no wonder the mirror switch didn't work....) so the connector coming out of the door (see picture), which is basically a 3-pin connector with two miniature female spade connectors,20240716_155304.jpg doesn't match any of the connectors I see on mirrors on ebay etc. I would love to replace it with a power mirror, but I want to make sure the mirror I buy is compatible with this connector. This car has the DL8 option. Anyone seen this connector before?

appears to be a completely different harness than what it should be, dl8 connector is nothing like that, not even close
you will probably have to hit a junk yard and cut out a oem harness and patch it back in, dl8 mirrors require a different mirror switch also

Nope, no wiring diagrams, if you have any you could share that would be great! So from looking at pictures it seems like I need a couple of 10-pin male connectors, with a few inches of wire. Does that sound right?

well you need to unwrap that black tape (not stock) until you reach wherever they chopped it off, that will determine the length of wire harness needed and the wires will be color coded so it's easy to patch in a oem harness from there.

Alright thanks guys, sounds like there is definitely something funny going on here. I will pick up a new mirror and then from there work to get it connected to my car. Is there any wisdom in regards to a used OEM mirror vs a brand new aftermarket mirror?

I'd get the used, OEM mirror, myself. About the only thing that goes wrong with them is the glass gets busted. I know the motors can go out, too, but the glass seems to break more often.

Also, you might go to a junkyard or a partout, and pull the proper harness. Keep in mind you can use the parts from an Avalanche, Escalade (Regular, EST, and EXT), Sierra, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon (Regular and XL). There may be some vehicles I've missed or forgotten, as well. And don't be afraid to buy a mirror with clouded glass, if you can get a good deal. The replacement glass is available for cheap on Amazon.

These are diagrams and connector pinouts for my 2001. Yours maybe different. The schematics are for several different options. Hopefully at least one of them applies. You could go to junkyard and cut off the connector ends.

I like to REPIN versus solder and or crimp lines then. I have a inexpensive connector depinning tool, prior to that I used paperclips. There's lots of tutorials on YouTube if you've never repined a connector before.

I see you maybe also buying new mirrors. I've had bad luck with aftermarket mirror quality but OEM is super expensive too. I found this brand though https://www.ksource.org/ and my last set of mirrors was from them. They've held up quite nicely.
