I have a JL4 ABS Module, and stripped the threads out. Am I screwed?

Hello,

I have a 2005 Yukon XL 1500 Denali. I had a brake line rust out, and accidentally stripped out the threads on the ABS module attempting to run new brake lines to the rear. I have the JL4 RPO code. My understanding is that the exact ABS module for this particular build spec was only used for a couple of years and is hard to find a replacement for. I had a well-reviewed local mechanic take a look and I was told they simply couldn't find the replacement parts anywhere.

I'm searching for some advice on how to proceed. The truck is in solid shape otherwise and not too high mileage. Is it possible to find the entire ABS module new or reman somewhere that I've missed? is it easier or cheaper to convert the truck to non-JL4 ABS somehow? Can my ABS module be fixed? I'm more than willing to buy scrapyard or used parts and do the work myself.

I am located near Pittsburgh if that helps.

Any advice or information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

What threads are you talking about? The little torqx mounting screws?

I stripped those trying to remove my abs module a few years ago. I left it like that for like 2 years. Last year I finally got myself a right angle drill adapter and drilled them out. I got a Dorman replacement (which are kinda spendy, especially if bought locally which is what I did.)

There's online places where you can send them your old one and they'll refurbish your unit. Prices are very reasonable over buying another one.

Or are you talking about the motor? Or that manifold? I think the abs module mounts to the manifold? IIRC?

Regardless, I'm pretty sure you could still find all those parts down here. Look at that car part.com. website. I see these trucks getting parted out regularly and literally only surface rust, if any at all.

Sorry, should have clarified. I stripped out the THreads where the brake linje fittings thread into the ABS module. They were corroded and totally failed when I took them out.
