Instead of a 285-45-22, we could run a 285-50-22, which, I think, would give us 1" back of the 2"s lost in sidewall by switching from 20's to 22's (I think)...Not sure if that would give us a better ride resulting from a switch to 22's...

Here's a mock-up of the stock vs. the 22's (forgive my lack of artistic ability)...

Going that route your only adding 0.6” of sidewall but gaining over 1” in overall height which I don’t think will get you much improvement in ride.

Stock 20's only have 5.95" of sidewall. It's a better choice than the 45 series and it gives him the diameter increase he wants.

That's what I have for my summer wheels/tires. It's not bad, but the roads here are typically hammered $hīt, and I notice a huge difference when I throw on my 18" wheels/33" snow tires.... Much more comfy ride.

Ended up finding some Corporate Motors 17" steelies w/studded snow tires for the upcoming winter. I imagine they'll be nice riding too.

FYI, my Yukon came with 20" wheels and 33" tires on a factory suspension height that didn't rub. Is there a difference in the wheel well between Tahoes and Yukons?
