Since we’re on the topic of engine oil, I have a stupid question(s), and instead of making a new topic perhaps we could discuss here. It used to be as long as it had the API label on the jug, it was good to go. Times change.

Dexos is absolutely required on the newer engines? I’m partial to Valvoline full synthetic myself but sometimes it just comes down to price. Could I get away with using just regular full synthetic oil or am I playing with fire if it doesn’t have the ‘dexos’ label ?

Also, capacities chart for a 2018 5.3L say 8 quarts with filter; does anyone know if that is accurate for engines that have the oil cooler equipped ?

The xW20s would make me nervous.
IFF you drive very gently, they should not make you nervous.
If your engine works or plays harder than a gentle boring commute, 0W30 / 5W30 is the FAR wiser choice.

Many engines that spec'd 5W20 in America spec'd 5W30 at the exact same time in Europe.
CAFE MpG scores consider engine longevity and oil consumption irrelevant.

you can use Dexos 1 Gen 3 oils if you wish (I do as other cars I take care of use it) and it IS good oil...many 5W-30 oils have the Dexos 1 Gen 3 license...plenty of good, full synthetic oils from Costco, Walmart and elsewhere to choose from...

good luck with your choice
