So, to be precise:
It disables 7-cylinder mode, 6-cylinder mode, 5-cylinder mode, 4 cylinder mode, 3-cylinder mode, & 2-cylinder mode,
but it does NOT disable 0-cylinder mode?

Which would happen literally every time the vehicle comes to a stop correct?

Or I suppose also anytime you want to slow down (like going from a 55 mph speed limit zone into a 45 mph speed limit zone), which would be a lot during normal driving.

@Antonm just my opinion but I feel like you should make a dedicated thread outlining your observations about the range unit.. DFM/AFM ‘disable’ is of interest to many of us here, and it would be good to have the discussion about the truths (and falsehoods) about what the Range units ACTUALLY do and DON’T do in one place…

Be a short thread that'd go something like this,, The Range Tech DFM disabler,,, it DOES NOT actually disable DFM,,, the end.

So, whenever Throttle Position Sensor = 0%, 0-cylinder mode is likely?

Fixed (thanks, I'd forgotten about it).

Since you beta tested the device, I'm guessing you know people at the company. Please ask them if/ when they ever intend to make an actual DFM disabler (you know, one that just turns DFM off) and I'll be the first in line to buy one.

Have any of you tried Carbyte? I’m curious what your thoughts are?

Due to these vehicles using Global B architecture, nobody might be able to actually stop the DFM mode, just "trick "it into not going into it. There are no companies making tunes yet due to the complexity of the programs and security. Stopping it from enabling might be all that these devices can do, especially at the price points they are at.

A couple people here have the Carbyte. I think I'll start a comparison thread and let the users of each explain the pros and cons of each.

I'm running the Carbyte in a 2025 RST 5.3L. It's nice to have 8cyl on tap 'all the time', especially after coming off a 6.2L LTZ.
And of course the auto stop/start is gone.
