Help with Rims (No more 24s)

I think 22's are the happy medium for this vehicle. I live in the Midwest, and we have tough roads and 22's have been fine. Haven't had any rim damage yet and we've hit some pretty big holes. The big thing about 20's and 22's is there are lots of tire choices. When you get to 24'S just very few that are quality tires.

Can't really disagree with this statement, except to say that,
if @awshifts does not consider gratuitous swerving fun,
then 20s would be better than 22s.

If, however, he's like me, and is considering stiffer swaybars so he can have even more fun swerving,
22s.

The OEM gloss black 22” wheels are a nice set up. I have them on our 2024 Yukon XL SLT. Put some Michelin Defenders on them and enjoy your smooth as butter ride.

I run the OEM aluminum 20” wheels in the winter with Blizzak DMV-2’s on them.

So I currently have a 21 RST (Suburban) with 24 inch Niche Rims... I Love the look, but the Rims have cracked 6 (yes 6 times). I have repaired them 5 times and had to buy a new one once.

With that being said - when I built it I had never purchased any rims that didnt come with a vehicle.

Now im in the process of purchasing a new set of rims and Tires.

I am looking to see if anyone has any photos of 20 Inch Black rims on their suburban or tahoe. It was raining a few nights ago, and I hit a pot hole going around a turn at about 18 MPH (the city is going to pay for that rim), but even doing that is a pain.

Ive learned my lesson thats for sure. Here is a photo of the current rims. I just dont know what it would look like with 20s.

These rims are the stock 20" that I hade powder coated. I think they look great. For winter I have another set of bkack rims

I am guessing from the pic, you are running 285 or 295 35 - 24s as a profile. Your tire size is the problem.

I have had the same 24" wheels on my truck since it had 18k mils on it (107k now) I am running a 305/35 24 to protect the wheels. It is literally only a month ago that I hit a pothole so hard that I need to have a wheel fixed. Otherwise none of them have any bends in them.

Also you could look into what size tire is used on the new 24" wheel coming on the Esky's. That will give you a good idea of what tire size to run as Caddy will not want to be replacing a lot of 24" wheels on leased vehicles for those who purchase the wheel insurance.

If your heart is set on the 20's or 22s, I say go for it. However, its a lot cheaper to just get different tires then replace the wheels. Just my 2¢.

I have a 16 Denali XL that came with factory 22’s and I hung on to them until the 100K mile mark and then switched them out for a set of 20’s w 275/60/20’s and the improvement in ride was unbelievable!! I’d go as far as to say the increased sidewall was more of an improvement than when I ditched the magneride all the way around for Arnott passive struts and shocks! Wish I would have switched to 20’s a long time ago!
