2013 Chevy Suburban LT heated steering wheel upgrade

* Must have 07-14 full size SUV or 07-13 full size pick up with steering wheel heat element embedded option.

* Purchase OEM clockspring with equipped for heated SW option. Aftermarket Dorman clockspring known to have issues.

* Review posts on the install procedure and where to pull a single power lead to it. Approx 07/08 used an in line fuse from the fuse box and approx 09 used a dedicated lead from the fuse box marked for steering wheel heater.

I have the required pigtail to hook that up if you're interested. I never used it now i don't need it.

the clock spring sends the power to the steering wheel you just need to connect the power to the clock spring connector.
you want accessory power so that you don't ever even accidentally leave the steering heat button on and drain the battery.
you can find the bcm power pin outs with the gm upfitter guide which is free online

You are correct.
I will add you need to also run a ground wire.
From experience with a 2011 Silverado, be sure to use an accessory 12 volt source. The battery will still drain, even if the switch for the heated wheel is not left ON. I had to rewire mine from a hot at all times to an accessory switch 12 volt source. No idea why the battery drained, but the heated wheel was not turned on.

With the stuff i have it plugs into the factory port for the heated wheel
