I've test drove some tahoes...silverados..and a gmc sierra. A couple of them have a tick at start up. After some reading this sounds common among 5.3 motors. The one today the Sierra has 106k on it and is a 2001. Should this concern me? He told me it does it slightly and goes away after a mile...
The ol man put in fresh fuel and seafoam seems to have gotten better he claims. He thinks maybe it idles a bit to low. Can you adjust the idle on a 96 or is it done by the computer?
Also it was fine when my dad drove it home yesterday. And fine for her last night on her way to work. But when she got there and warmed up it acted up...only when she applies brake pressure to shift gears. Idles fine. She went out at midnight idled good drove around parking lot didn't do...
My parents got a lower mileage tahoe from a dealer yesterday. Runs smooth no light on in dash as they replaced a 02 sensor...my mom took it to work last nice Said it runs smooth but this morning it died several times in a couple parking lots when she would back out or put in gear. She got it...
I've been looking at them for awhile. Z71s seem to sell higher and this one is one of the cheaper ones with decent miles at 159k. I drove this thing and it was like floating on a cloud. Very comfy ride with nice pep. So I suppose it sounds like it has a lot of positives I should focus on...
I haven't yet no I'm trying to talk myself out of this one..very nice looking ride...rode good just the tick and the wheel shake kinda have me worried....but should it worry me so much not to buy it??? Ugh
Thanks for the reply. That's what I was wondering and should be a cheap fix I hope. With it having 285s I was wondering if the keys were cranked and it wore out front end parts....just trying to cover my bases hate to spend 7k and have alot of repairs right away
Anything else I should look for as far as issues like I said it ran and rode nice. Seems like these things run forever most for sale have 140-200k on them
Test drove a 05 z71 with aftermarket 17 with 285s. Right when I went to test drive he said it needs tires balanced the wheel shakes. So I leave and feel it slightly I let go of the wheel it runs straight down the road but had a shake at the steering wheel. Then it went away and I never really...
Got them down to 7000. It runs good drives good. Sometimes you would get a shimmy in the steering wheel. But it didn't feel like any front end issue...tire out of balance maybe? I did notice a slight exhaust tick. And the heat changing is only on the drivers side as I mentioned in my first post...
I'm looking at a 05 tahoe z71 package with 158k. Body is solid. Front buckets have some cracking in the leather. The rest of the seats look good...has a sunroof, bose, dvd player..remote start...thy are asking 7300. It has a issue with the heater sometimes where the drivers side blows the temp...
