grease it every month. I just replaced them on my 03 Denali at 176k the aftermarket units are not sealed like the original (the rubber boot is slip fit)so I assume regular grease is critical. and be sure to replace them both
fuel pump runs off the pcm b fuse. anyway i got it fixed. the plug on the new oem module was bad. I put the plug from the old module into the new module and everything works.
put a different gauge cluster in the Yukon and it did the same thing. It must be something in the wiring/sending unit but it all tests out ok .....out of ideas
I took the stepper off the tach and put it on the fuel gauge. tach is now working fine but the fuel is doing the same thing. I had a tech from just answers help me with the testing he told me the only way to test the pcm to cluster is with a Tech 2. it is a serial data signal. If i have 2,000 i...
it is a oem module. I put the old sending unit in it did the same thing. the ohms at the the pcm are good so the circuit is good. new stepper motor. only thing i can think is that a circuit in the gauge cluster is bad
the new module has the sending unit in it. I put the old sending unit on and it is doing the same thing. ohms read good on both sending units (136) and 154 at the pcm. all within the range
03 yukon denali ---So my fuel pump did the other day blew the pcm b fuse. so i ordered a new oem fuel pump module put it in and the truck runs great but the gas gauge is now not working. I start it and it will go to 1/4 for 15 sec then it drops to E and the light low fuel light is on. It will...
well it is fixed .....the trans guy built a new trans for the yukon installed it and it shifts great. He has no idea why the old one flared the 2-3 but he made it right in the end.
trans guy called today said he had it fixed. he replaced the case and a encapsulated ball. I picked it up and on the way home the 2-3 flared like always. I called him he said on his test drive it shifted fine. He told me to drop it off at his shop.
its not the pcm. the builder has the truck again. he told me that he has a 02 Yukon in the shop with the same problem. I am just going to leave it with him until it is fixed. if/when it is fixed I will post the solution
looked all the grounds over all look OK...the only wires by the crash are the MAF wires and the headlights they all are fine..I did run across a sonnax article about 2-3 flare it talks about the pcm not turning the B solenoid off cleanly so the trans will flare the shift . they amp tested the...
thanks for the great info jay,
I just got a e-mail from the last ower and she said that they never had any transmission problems before the crash. The truck was crashed on the RH front I have looked it all over a few times but I will do it again.
thanks jay,
from what I can tell the builder knows what he is doing. he dose "bench rebuilds " for a lot of local repair shops. I called him after I installed the trans and it still flared he told me to drop it off at his shop. he took the trans out to look everything over again put it back in...
well drove the Yukon today still sometimes has a flare on the 2-3 shift the transmission guy told me that he replaced everything in the trans and it must be electrical he thinks the pcm. any way to test the pcm? he also said one thing he could try was to install a kit that converts the trans...
the yukon rear ended a snow plow last winter so I replaced the LH fender hood bumper and grill the driver air bag was replaced too. It has no codes.

so I got a 03 Yukon Denali that was in a light crash I got the damage fixed and started to drive it ans noticed that the transmission had a 2-3 ans 3-4 flare (trans slips, engine revs between gears) took it to a transmission shop was told it needs a rebuild so I pulled it out and had it rebuilt...
think my dad is going to stop by and help.... I try to keep the beer till the end ....i end up doing more drinking that working :) $700 is cheap..... the guy is a hillbilly but what tranny guy is not?
