Put 70 bucks in the tank yesterday
I think after this one, I might get one more before I do a oil change and tire rotation-170,000
Probably actually pull the dipstick on the trans for once, but wait another 5,000 before it do a filter and change on that again.
Also Facebook reminded me a...
I've been running weight safe for a few years.
And my sig shows I tow all kinds of random shtuff. Lol
Actually have two because the first one I bought was steel and was only a 6-in drop which ended up not being enough for me.
I actually have 2... Looks like prices have gone up as well.
Tried to...
Some places a little more north of here are being hit pretty bad by flooding and there's a lot of evacuations zones, but not so much where I am. Actually did some unintentional puddle bashing on the morning commute because of the large volume of rain we've had here.
And now it's tied.
Tomorrow I think I'm going to be driving the TowHoe turd only about 170mi... Not all that far, but she hasn't done any trips over 35miles in a while.
Ah, got ya. Mine has no infotainment.
Finally put the "Trans Dyno Tune" on.
Now locking the converter and locking in a gear works perfect.
Had to test it of course. Cut the runs short due to traffic(wasn't an issue before since I always used 2nd).
BLUE line was an on ramp with an incline...
No personal experience, but I believe that's one of the earlier 4.2 engines and I want to say there was some failure point with the cam or cam gears or something That was usually catastrophic.
And those have the 4l60 trans that everybody knows are junk.
Seems like low miles for the year though.
Topped her up with winter air.
Morning cold pressures were getting into the 20's. I try to run 35-40.
She was being Finicky for the pic, but they were even.
30secs later with the key off, 2 more tires dropped. lol
Yeah, 76 and newer require a smog every other year still.
It used to be 25-year-old cars would fall off of requiring smog. Until they got to 76 where there was a fair amount of smog equipment on most vehicles so that's where they locked it in like a holes.
It might be a bit less. I don't remember what my buddy told me.
But this has to 7,000 lb axles I believe he said.
And he widened the deck and added drive over fenders. Well did a new hitch on the front to accept it 2-5/16 ball instead of a 2in.
He was intending to call his 90-something for...
Because the parts I need on this one are smog exempt. If I "swap cabs" ;) my running complete '80 is suddenly a '75
Thereby relieving me of the ridiculous smog drama of my 42-year-old 4 cylinder truck that only gets a couple hundred miles a year and should be exempt anyway... Can't get...
I've had a 1980 4x4 since 2015.
My dad has a 79 4x4 that's got a body lift and then he has a 75 that he's taking his sweet time to turn into a drag truck.
It is. '75.
Smog exempt in this kommie state.
It's basically rusted out and a pile of junk. I just got it for a few parts for mine and my dad wanted some for his trucks as well.
Need to see about getting it registered in my name. I think the last time it was registered was like 1984 or...
I definitely did have it loaded a little tongue heavy.
That truck is around 2,700 lb and the trailer is around 3,500.
I'm honestly still surprised how well it pulled like that.
The empty trailer wasn't super noticeable. But I really should put all those engine parts I have sitting around on this...
Well, bought some more trash.
Borrowed my buddies trailer to grab it.
And temporarily storing the eyesore on his property.
Tongue weight was pretty good despite the squat. It actually rode better with all that weight over big bumps than when I'm not towing.
And the king shocks handled the bumps...
