Thanks for the responses. Yea I was trying to get the intake manifold off. I finally got the sucker off but I almost lost it. I think it seriously took me 2 hours to get that stupid thing off.
I have been working on getting the top of the two quick disconnect lines undone for an hour and a half. Neither of the tools I have bought at the auto parts store are working. Anyone have some tips on how to get that damn thing released?
As stated above it seems like a pretty straight forward job. I need to get mine done and I am being lazy so I have called a few shops and they are all around $400 which I think it outrageous.
Thanks for all the info. I am pretty sure it is piston slap. Just annoying more than anything. Im glad to hear its not an issue that has to be addressed right away.
Anyone else have this issue? Just bought my 03 Tahoe z71 about a month ago. It seems that the PO did not take very good care of it at all. First oil change was ugly and it had supposedly only been three months. Since that oil change I have put 1k on the it and the oil already looks toast...
Mine does this too. The squeal is not too bad but still annoying. I replaced the belt and tensioner pulley thinking it was that last weekend. Got in my tahoe tuesday and it squealed a bit. Im thinking it can either be the power steering or water pump. But I don't feel like chasing things...
Do you know of any way to disable the auto headlights on a 2003 Tahoe? There is a write up for 00-2002 but the wiring is different for an 03. I have searched high and low and can not find something similar to the solution of the 00-02. I am going to go through bulbs and ballasts like crazy if...
Quick question... Do any of you run spacers on your daily 4x4? I am looking to get 1.5 inch spacers for my 2003 Tahoe z71. I want the stance to be a bit more aggressive. If you are running that size spacers have you noticed any unusual wear on your other parts? I can not find any info on this...
Not sure if this has been done before on here but I thought I would share. Until I have the money the install a double din this will work. I build a tablet holder out of 2 wreath holders and some medical tape. It works well with my Nexus 7 and my wife's iPad.
I started my 03 Tahoe yesterday after a couple days of sitting and a huge cloud of white or maybe blue smoke came from the exhaust. Smelled terrible too. I'm trying to figure out if it's the PCV valve, the valve guide seals or something else. The most common reason for this smoking seems to be...
I just purchased a 2003 Tahoe z71 with 100k on the clock. I went and got my oil changed earlier today (think they used 5w-30). Took the Tahoe out tonight and it was acting super strange at idle. Oil pressure would sit at 40 then slightly drop to 38ish causing the rpm's to drop and dash lights...
