Anyone else have this problem and found a solution? My wifes 04 tahoe squeals when you start it on cold mornings. My neighbors 05 suburban does the same thing. I've changed the belts and no difference. Squeal goes away after a minute or so. Most of the time the hoe is parked in the garage so the squealing doesnt happen, but when its parked outside on a cold night it squeals like a banshee.

Surely others have had this problem and figured out a solution.

Mine does this too. The squeal is not too bad but still annoying. I replaced the belt and tensioner pulley thinking it was that last weekend. Got in my tahoe tuesday and it squealed a bit. Im thinking it can either be the power steering or water pump. But I don't feel like chasing things around until I find the noise.

I would think tensioner. I have a 02 and it has two tensioners. If you can have someone crank it while you listen to isolate the noise.

I propose its a rotating object that is making the squeal?

Open the hood, get a can of wd40 or something simalar, turn truck on and spray the pulleys front and back one at a time till you get the right one. Than you can drench it in oil and if it happens again replace it.

Its more then likely just condensation on the belt,im thinking its one of those things you may have to deal with as ive been hunting for a solution for a while and the best thing is to just get a gatorback belt and call it a day.I replaced tensioner, idler pully, and serpintine belt (gates belt) and still nothing

Ive replaced the tensior, idler pulley and serpentine as well. Just curious because the hoe is fixing to spend more time outside and less time in the garage.
