    Expected transmission life span

Does anyone have a ball park idea on the expected life span of the 4L65 tranny? I'm at 108k and a buddy of mine that rebuilds transmissions says it's usually about 100-110k. I don't know if that's the life span of the ones he sees or if that's about all they last.

Two problems with steering wheel buttons

Thanks for the help. My next step was going to be to pull the airbag. Need t wait until space opens up at the shop because my BMW is torn apart in the garage at home. Any ideas on what happened with the buttons getting reassigned? I was thinking maybe pulling the battery and see if that fixes...

Two problems with steering wheel buttons

I started to pull the steering wheel buttons in my 04 Yukon Denali to replace the bulbs with blue LED's. I got the top buttons done but the bottom buttons won't come out. It almost feels like the wires are too short to get them out far enough. Is there another way to take the steering wheel...

    Rear climate controller doesn't work

The rear climate/media controller in my 04 Yukon Denali is acting up and I'm not sure why. If I hit the power button for the climate control it will turn the screen on but the only thing that shows up is the feet and face arrows and it says OFF. It will then turn off after a few seconds. When I...

    Need new ignition suggestions

That's about what I was expecting to hear. I'll just replace the one coil, plugs and wires. I can make them look pretty on my own

    Need new ignition suggestions

I was going to do pugs and wires anyway. Cleaning the MAF and TB are good ideas. I had a code pop up for a bad coil on #8 so I know I need at least one. I just want to know if there's any benefit to them. I have an intake right now and eventually will be doing headers, cam and maybe more (I've...

    Need new ignition suggestions

I'm getting a slight miss in my 04 Yukon Denali (6.0, 108k miles) and think it's time for new plugs and wires and maybe even coils. Has anyone used any of the "performance" coils or wires with any even noticeably good results or should I just stick with stock?

Both keyless entry remotes stopped working

Didn't try them. The remotes started working again but sometimes I have to press the lock or unlock button a few times. The buttons feel funny so it may be time for a new remote

    Tahoe/Yukon Double Console Mod

The wood grain on the two pieces you posted the pics of come separate from the pewter painted plastic. If you look at the back side you can see where they melted tabs to hold the pieces together. If you cut them down you can pull them apart so you can sand/paint and get a nice clean edge. The...

    The Plasti Dip Thread

It's not on my Yukon but I dipped my previous BMW. Is pent a lot of time researching it and even going on the dipyourcar forum and calling the company. They'd never even heard of dipping a car to the extent I did. I couldn't find anyone to shoot paint after the body work was done so I dipped the...

Denali braided ss brake line kit

Wish I had found those when I did mine a few months ago. Would have saved some headache having to piece a kit together.

Driver seat is trying to kill me

That's pretty much what I did by turning off the easy exit. I do still need to be able to move the seat back and forth occasionally for cleaning or to remove the seat. It also annoys me to not have everything working as it should. I'm going to be posting some pics up in the next week or two of...

Driver seat is trying to kill me

The only thing I can think is a controller got stupid or someone depinned a plug and swapped the wiring. If they repinned it there would be no way to tell. There is no good reason I can think to do that except to screw with someone (it would make a good practical joke).

Driver seat is trying to kill me

I took a look at the wiring under the seat when I had it out. I know the front/back motor has two larger wires (black and red, +12v and gnd I assume) and Three smaller wires (black white and red I think). I'm not sure if swapping the larger black and red wired so the motor runs backwards will...

Driver seat is trying to kill me

Since the day I bought my 04 Yukon Denali the switch that moves the seat forward and backward has worked in the wrong direction. I push forward the seat goes back and vice versa. It's not so bad because I'm the only person that drives it and I quickly figure out how to turn off the easy exit...

Both keyless entry remotes stopped working

It seems now is the time to deal with some electrical issues in my 04 Yukon Denali. A Few days ago my remote for keyless entry stopped working. I assumed it was a dead battery. Today I tried the other remote I replaced the battery in a few months ago and it doesn't work either. I doubt they both...

    Random HVAC problems

I have an 04 Denali with the digital climate control and rear HVAC. Now that it's starting to get cold out I figured it was about time to fix my climate control issues. I tried the recalibration (set to auto, pull fuse for 1 min, insert fuse, run truck for 2 mins, key of then restart is less...

Denali braided ss brake line kit

I didn't find the 6 line Goodridge kit either. I used the Russel 5 line kit then bought two more lines and the right adapters to replace the rear lines that drop down to the axle. They don't make one line with the right fittings because each end of the hose is different. I ordered everything...
