Since the day I bought my 04 Yukon Denali the switch that moves the seat forward and backward has worked in the wrong direction. I push forward the seat goes back and vice versa. It's not so bad because I'm the only person that drives it and I quickly figure out how to turn off the easy exit feature ( where the seat moves back when you turn the truck off) but before I did the seat would go all the way forward any time you shut the truck off. I know it can only go so far and even though I'm not that tall it's still an uneasy feeling when the seat starts pushing you towards the steering wheel and you can get your legs out to get out of the truck. I know the issue isn't just flipping the switch around because it does move the wrong way for the easy exit. I had the seat out and it didn't look like anything was wrong with the wiring or that it had ever been messed with. Today I went to get out of the truck and the seat went down all the way and moved forward even though the courtesy exit is turned off. No idea what happened but it hasn't done it since.

I've run into a few trucks like that. When I pushed the power seat button forward, the seat would go backwards, and pushing the button forwards, it would go backwards. I never could figure it out. So yours isn't the only one.

I took a look at the wiring under the seat when I had it out. I know the front/back motor has two larger wires (black and red, +12v and gnd I assume) and Three smaller wires (black white and red I think). I'm not sure if swapping the larger black and red wired so the motor runs backwards will work of if I need to swap the control wires around.

I repair interiors for dealers, so none of them were mine, so I never investigated the issue. But if no one ever messed with original wiring, why would it just do that? Weird.

The only thing I can think is a controller got stupid or someone depinned a plug and swapped the wiring. If they repinned it there would be no way to tell. There is no good reason I can think to do that except to screw with someone (it would make a good practical joke).

If you're the only person that drives the truck why don't you just disconnect the motor?

I never move my seats in anything unless my wife or the guys at work drove it last. I always have the seat all the way back so I can fit.

That's pretty much what I did by turning off the easy exit. I do still need to be able to move the seat back and forth occasionally for cleaning or to remove the seat. It also annoys me to not have everything working as it should. I'm going to be posting some pics up in the next week or two of all the modifications I've done to the truck. Just want to get the last few things done before I unveil it.

I've seen this, too. I think i read once that the control module needs a flash /update. It's a firmware thing.
