I owned an 05 CTS V (first gen actually started in 2004). The resale value will surprise you in a real bad way. Plan on around 30% the first year, dropping to about half within 3 years. Mine had a crappy rear end, interior panels came off, bad alignment from factory, a 3 year old NAV disc...
Unfortunately you can blame gas mileage and emission standards. One way around it is to use the manual setting and set 4th gear as the highest gear the tranny can use.
I have a XL Denali AWD and I think it is pretty quick for an almost 3 ton vehicle.
If it makes you feel better the A6...
I'm curious how the new Gen 6 version works with vers 5.0 of the NAV.
All manufacturers lock out their GPS updating while moving, or at least a lot of them. You can thank the people that sued GM because they were not paying attention and blame the GPS for letting them lose their attention.
Well I had it in the shop today. It was cold (19F) and it was actually not making noise. I showed him the gap in the front and they said there are no mounting clips missing. I guess I just have to wait until it warms up again. I definitely want to get if fixed before we do a cross country...
I just noticed that on my left front door the front of the door panel where the dash settles in is loose. I can probably push it in about 1/4 to 1/2 inch on the driver's side and barely on the pax side. I wonder if this is my issue. Well I'm due for an oil change so I'll probably take it in...
I'm thinking it is not the pulley but either the pulley's mount or what drives the pulley (crank shaft). It isn't just American cars and it is actually hard to tell what is American these days or not.
Consider a lemon law and research what your state's rules are. GM bought back my first...
I have the 6.2 in my 09 Denali XL with AWD and its quickness will surprise you. I had the 5.3 in my Envoy (although it has about 20 less HP) and I couldn't imagine it pulling another 1000 lbs.
Gas mileage? I averaged anywhere from 17.5-19.7 on the long trips I have taken so far. 17.5 was...
I was an aircraft mechanic for 20 years and an intermittent fault is usually a loose connection somewhere. This can be in the wiring or in the part itself. Try to keep track of when the NAV system starts acting strange (IE hitting a bump, turning left, braking, etc). It can be a loose ground...
The important thing is that what they took is replaceable. Be thankful you didn't have a child in the back.
Things like this doesn't surprise me anymore though. OnStar will not always be able to prevent it since it is pretty easy to disable it. The truth is that if a thief has the tools...
Every manufacturer has their lemons. Out of warranty you don't want an import though. Good luck even finding parts in one day.
People tend to judge people by the type of vehicle they drive. It doesn't matter what you drive. Since most of us are pretty much owners of a full size SUV, we...
This might be a good idea if you live in a higher threat area.

Mine is still going on. I'll notice it especially around 50mph and below. I thought it was from the B pillar at first but now I hear it up by where the mirror attaches as well. I checked the striker point and it seems to be secure. Dealer couldn't hear it with their Friday afternoon ears. I...
Becareful on what you buy from the dealer. Some don't sell the GM plan but rather a 3rd party plan. I have extended warranties for all 3 of my GM vehicles, all 3 different companies. GM went with only 5 years for the powertrain warranty starting in 2009 or 2010 I think. Still 100k though...
Mine is about 20 seconds. You don't want them too quick otherwise they'll go on anytime you slowly go under an overpass or shady area.
I never heard of adjusting the time.
I have owned the three most common GMC SUVs so I'll compare the three here.
06 GMC Envoy Denali, 4WD, 5.3 V8 - Excellent vehicle! I had it for about 4 years. Averaged about 18-20mpg on the highway and about 14-15mpg around town. Tow rating is 6k, comfortable ride but is definitely not...
Any mods to the system? I only had my Yukon for about 5000 miles but I haven't had a problem with it. I did notice this week that it thinks it is faster (fastest route) to go from Albuquerque to Salt Lake City via Denver (I25 and I70) rather then go through the 4 corners region (the shortest...
I agree! Honestly goes along way. The worst thing you want them to do is find the slit (which any decent mechanic will). Just the opposite also, if they screw your car up and don't admit to it how would you feel about them? They would be slammed on this board and you might be going...
My driver's door is rattling, sounds almost like one of the window switches or something is loose. I'll check the striker plate. It is getting worse as the wife can hear it from the pax seat now.
