Thought id jump in,

Im glad you got rid of it, all those problems were happening way too fast, seemed to be a bad one out of the bunch. I would have called lemon law and tried to figure something out but o well. When we got out whaler it was brand new and the day it was shipped the gas tank was leaking, 2 months later power steering went 10 miles out, next month power steering again, 3 months later we lost power to everything. We called the factory and they offered to have a brand new one made but it would take almost a year. We kept the boat and had everything replaced over the winter and the whole boat repainted. The boat runs great now but it was alot of work. Boston whaler makes great boats but that was just a bad one i guess.

Every manufacturer has their lemons. Out of warranty you don't want an import though. Good luck even finding parts in one day.

People tend to judge people by the type of vehicle they drive. It doesn't matter what you drive. Since most of us are pretty much owners of a full size SUV, we have our share of critics. It doesn't matter what full size SUV you are driving. I also have a 2008 Corvette and hear plenty of comments, most refer to gas mileage. Too bad they didn't realize that I can average 28-32 mpg cruising at 70-80mph which beats 90% of the critics that I met.

I never cared much for Japanese cars also. Not because they are not good cars, I just don't like Japan's trade policies. A lot of their cars look a lot like each other. At least an Audi looks like an Audi, you can't mistake a Jag or Mercedes.

As far as GM goes they had severe management problems that will take years to fix. Ford has made some good cars but severely underpowered with a few of them (current Navigator is one example). In England they joke that all the soccer players have either a Navigator, Escalade, Hummer or Range Rover. Over here people tend to relate them to drug dealers or mall cruisers, no where in between.

I am on new GM SUV #3 in the last year and a half (2008 Buick Enclave, 2009 Enclave both lemons and now my 07' Denali).....and this one is in the shop as I type. Bought this one thinking that it had a few miles on it so it had the kinks worked out of it, yeah right. I work on the road and can not leave my wife and 2 kids at home with a vehicle that is going to be un-reliable. She has had to take my toy (2002 Mustang GT convertible) several times with the F'd up Buicks. I have been a GM person for 20 years, and I am done. I will be going to an Expedition EL or a Navigator next time. Just bought a Camry for a work car and the big Toyota SUV is not bad and the price was about what a Denali is.

God, I wouldnt touch a Navigator... M-I-L has An Expi and it is crap. Better 'fitment' and 'feel' but worse materials, and the electrics and powertrain are a compete joke.
Hoes been good, problems known and home repairable, especially if you have a soldering iron, an airchisel, and a good impact. (cluster, front hubs, parking brake)
