okay well one thing i forgot to mention is that the 383 is out of an 80's camaro, will it have all the sensor hookups in the block that i need? the head and everything isnt a big deal because itll be my vortec head as i said before but im just wondering about the block being older whether itll...
sorry havent been on much worked over 100 hours in the past 6 days but thanks guys alot of good info in here so far, its gonna be another couple weeks until i can afford start buildng it, gonna start tearing everything out here in the next couple days tho if work tames down a bit. i think im...
yeah im talking to phone man on this being that hes been down this road before and he said the stock fuel system will run it just fine as well as the computer. and my pump should have good pressure its brand new lol
yes thanks ive got that far on my own lol what im puzzled about is the fuel delivery? i dont think that stock spider assembly will put out enough when a guy starts laying into the throttle. it might be okay in the lower rpms
yeah thanks anyways but im pretty set on the 383, only problem is trying to figure out how im gonna get more fuel into that beast :/ someone has had to have run into this problem before
you do have a good point matt and i do love the 350 theres absolutely nothing wrong with them but ive always wanted to try a 383 and this seems like the pefrect time to do one seeing as how theres no rush or anything like that i can take my time and do it right.
hey guys as the title says im gonna be swapping in a 383 stroker into my kon. im gonna reuse my vortec heads on the 383 block and try to keep it as simple as possible. any tips or hints would be very helpful as im getting ready to begin this project soonish :D
Yes i realize this now, im just gonna go with the 383 and swap the head over from my vortec. Now ffs dont tear me apart for this but from what ive been seeing it appears easier to adapt the vortec fuel delivery system and get the computer re tuned to run the 383. I dont know if any of you have...
yeah dylan im leaning more toward the 383, my buddy has a 383 block for me anyways. and all i need to do is send my computer away to get reprogrammed then itll run it?
well my parts guy priced me out a brand new 350 ho block with vortec heads rated at 351hp now if i put an edlbrock intake manifold in there, do msd ignition and coil, and transfer over my cold air intake and throttle body spacer also my true duals with high flow cats i should be sitting around...
yeah i mean even if i throw a fresh 350 block in with a full edlebrock top end if i build it right i should be pushing 400 horse, but then ill have to pull the tranny too and do heavy duty clutches and shift kits which isnt too big of a deal
wellll ive been giving it some thought and i think for the price of getting another truck i might as well throw a 383 stroker in the ***** then adapt in a used 4L80E to handle the power...opinions?
hey guys my 98 kon threw the cylinder 8 rod the other day and due to my living situation im not too sure if i can keep er to throw a new engine in eventually due to nowhere to keep it for the meantime. so at least for now this is bye it was fun and thanks for all the the help i got in the little...
skyhigh, when i did my spider i just took the plenum off. i never took the whole manifold out either way works i suppose but you can do it with just taking the plenum off fyi, oh and youre gonna have a goddamn blast working around the big wiring harnesses that run right over top of the plenum...
so hey guys just got it back from the shop and the distributor had jumped a few teeth apparently, but now it has a vaccum leak on the intake plenum lol this damn thing sure keeps me busy but i still wouldnt trade er for anything. anyways just thought i should let you all know what the actual...
being a 95 that thing should be a TBI which if the case i recommend 100 times over keeping that kon NBGuy. ive had two TBIs in life and i would take them over any of my Vortecs.
honestly auto 4 wheel drive is a terrible idea and not needed IMO, my kon has it and ill never engage it. just the idea of it trying to engage while everythings already moving at a good rate of speed just doesnt seem to add up to longevity of the driveline especially on older units like ours, my...
ive owned a new chev before and honestly even though my kon is giving me issues right now i like it way better than i did my new chev which actually burned to the ground. my 98 has better throttle response than that 07 did, its interior is much nicer and comfortable(my opinion), and its much...
yeah i know it wasnt the best thing to do, gotta learn to control that temper lol and yeah i checked the oil and coolant for any signs of a head gasket issue (ive had a chevy 350 with a bad headgasket before) but nothing. it will only heat up when you put throttle into it as soon as you let off...
