Any local auto parts place should be able to order them if they don't have them in stock. Or if you prefer to buy online, I got mine from www.summitracing.com and www.rockauto.com has them as well. Thanks for the compliment BTW.
I attached a picture with the door switch circled in yellow. They're only like $6 each and really easy to replace. Just reach behind the dash and there are two clips on the switch that you need to compress and then just pull the switch out of the dash. I found it was easier to disconnect the...
The door switches may be worn out. When I bought my truck both switches didn't work. If I wiggled the pin the light would come on. I replaced both switches and that fixed the problem. Does opening the tailgate or turning the dimmer switch all the way up cause the light to come on?
The antenna on the 5901 is just under 10ft (119in).
Hmm. There's really a noticeable difference if the antenna's on the side of the windshield? I'm trying to do kind of a stealth install with the 5901 but without having the alarm mounted under the dash I don't think the antenna will reach...
+1 I ordered a 5901 from them and after a month it hadn't shipped and I did not hear a word from them unless I contacted them. To which they replied that it was backordered and it would ship shortly. I asked them to cancel my order which they said they did on 12/29 but I have yet to see the...
Hey guys I'm in the middle of installing my 5901 right now and it's going pretty well for the most part. This is only my second install but I did plenty of research beforehand. Well anyway, is it OK to lengthen the wires to the alarm? I would assume it's fine to lengthen the light gauge wires...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I looked all over the place for matching spray paint with no success. I also tried a local paint place to see if they could match the color but they said they wouldn't be able to put it in a spray can. He also didn't think there was any place nearby that...
ATTENTION: The company that I ordered the alarm from, Dealer Cost Car Audio, is a scam. It's been almost a month since I ordered the alarm and it still hasn't shipped. Emails to the company just say that it is backordered and that I should get it soon, nothing more. After further researching...
Hey guys, I need a little help finding paint to match my interior. I need to paint a trim piece I'm using to fit an aftermarket head unit. I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites where I could order paint that would exactly match the beige dash in my truck? I already tried the "Saddle"...
I personally would stay away from the 20 weight oils, especially on a motor that doesn't call for it. It's too thin IMO to provide adequate protection. And I doubt that you would even notice a difference in mpg. We're talking tenths of a mpg difference. Some newer cars call for it because...
Thanks for the recommendation. I hadn't really looked at the Infinity Kappas but I have heard really good things about them. And they seem to be about the same price as the BA speakers I was looking at so I'm giving these speakers serious consideration.
I think I'm a little confused about the big 3 upgrade. I thought I understood it but I just want to make sure I'm on the same page. The first wire I'm adding to is the battery positive to the alternator output, no confusion there. The second wire I'm adding goes from the battery negative and...
I like the product. I haven't used it in the Yukon yet but I've had only good results on other vehicles. I put some in the tank and run some directly into the engine. I don't put it in the oil though but you weren't going to anyway. I don't think it's necessary as long as you change your oil...
Thanks guys. Is there any benefit to upgrading the ground from the body to the chassis? I would assume this is not necessary because the amp will be grounded directly to the chassis but I figured I'd ask because I might have some extra wire. And drod1977, I'm not running the 0 gauge to the...
Welcome to the forum. I like www.summitracing.com for more general aftermarket parts. And www.lmctruck.com has a lot of more Tahoe/Yukon specific parts.
Thanks for all of the input guys. I'll be ordering the head unit soon. I would have had it already but I got a tint ticket so that temporarily cut into the budget. I'll get the amp wiring kit at the same time as the head unit. Going with 4 gauge. I'm installing the subs in a store bought...
Ok thanks, good to know Viper is a good brand. I ended up buying the Viper 5901 just now because I found what I think is a very good deal. I got it for $194 shipped. I'm not sure what this forum's policy on posting links is but if I'm allowed to if someone wants the link I'll post it. I hope...
