D-pillar replacement vent (not the cover)

Thanks Mark! I need both sides, my fear is used ones will do exactly the same thing in a very short period of time. I ended up getting 2 new ones from gmpartsgiant.com. Even with shipping it was almost 30 bucks less than the dealer (who would have also had to order them).

D-pillar replacement vent (not the cover)

#15816854 $37.18 EACH from the stealer. Guess I'll find another way to close them off. Apparently it s problem for a lot of people and trucks... http://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/2001-2007-gmt800-non-powertrain/814186-leaking-cab-vents.html

D-pillar replacement vent (not the cover)

Just like I thought... out of 9 holes/ports whatever, TWO of them were covered and both of those fell off as soon as I touched it. Of course there's no part number to be found anywhere on it either... ugh :(

D-pillar replacement vent (not the cover)

Can't find the correct name for these anywhere. I'm not looking for the exterior cover, I'm looking for the piece that goes under them. Black plastic thing with little rubber flaps to release cabin pressure or something. Mine are missing several of the flaps and I occasionally have to travel on...

    2001 Yukon 138K on the clock...TRANS

01 is gone…. Couldn’t justify spending another 4k on a truck worth 2k….. This is the new one. :)

    2001 Yukon 138K on the clock...TRANS

2001 Yukon 138K on the clock…. Remote started in Tuesday morning and it jumped rearward then hit the park lock whatever I guess and settled. (of course it was in PARK) Thought it was really strange and it scared the shit out of me.. but it’s drove fine for the last 2 days. This morning I started...

replacement fog light for the 2001 type front air dam?

OUCH! Not sure I'm willing to spend 600.00 dollars on fog lights. Wish there was a local retailer around here somewhere, I'd like to see a few of these RIgid lights in action. http://utvinc.com/led-light-bars/rigid-industries-6-e-series-led-light-bar-rgdl06/

    I'm Done

Was your AC on? My truck does okay but the AC seems to take about 100HP away. I can roll 70 mph with the boat but 1/2 that time its floored.

replacement fog light for the 2001 type front air dam?

Ezdaar – I read your previous post in detail… These eBay projectors take an H3 bulb. Are you using an H3 HID set up in them or did you modify further? In past experiences H3 bulbs and the like kind of sucked for me, I hate the way they ground them with the phillips screw. Lookling at them...

replacement fog light for the 2001 type front air dam?

I have seen those on eBay.... really not in love with the goofy LED's on the sides...... they would be better with just the projection lamp.

replacement fog light for the 2001 type front air dam?

Anyone ever found a good fitting replacement fog light for the 2001 type front air dam? I’ve owned the truck for 10 years and replaced them probably 7 times. They all leak, lenses fall out or are eff’ed up in some fashion after the first month. I can fabricate the brackets and aiming devices...

    I'm Done

I have a 2001 Yukon that I’ve owned for 10 years… it’s going to sh!t. Replaced ECBM, radiator, deferential, window regulators, and the AC, on and on… It’s got 135K and the 5.3 is a piston slapping DOG. Serious lack of power and always has. I did a cold air intake free flowing exhaust.. Hypertech...

ABS Light and Brake Light 01 Tahoe

I realize this is a little old but I just had the same problem today with ABS and brake light coming on and it seems there is a ton of misinformation out there and people are needlessly trading in the trucks they love because they are told its going to cost thousands of dollars to fix this. Will...

    Changing rotted backing plates/dust shields

Well you are probably tempted to turn the axel, but I strongly recommend you don't. It may be ready to come out.. how are you trying to grab it? A magnet (for me anyways) worked the best. Needle noise and other methods can force the C-clip one way or another making it seem like you don't have...

How do you diagnose a power window motor problem?

I've done this twice myself.. From my experience its best to get the window all the way up (if it's not) then tape it up there using the top of the door to secure it there. You never really have to mess with the glass at all this way. The new motor will come with 2 rails, cables and of...

    Changing rotted backing plates/dust shields

Never apologize for being new at something, we all were before we tried it..... There are two schools of thought on this... 1. I pulled my axles and did the one piece replacement plates, and if I had to do it again this is still what I would do. It's not that bad, follow the directions and...

    Changing rotted backing plates/dust shields

Besides containing some (very little) of the brake dust and keeping it off your wheels….. The main function is to hold/secure the e-brake cable.

    Changing rotted backing plates/dust shields

I have air but just used it to get the wheels off. I jacked it up about a foot from the differential housing, then placed jack stands under the frame rails just before the trailing arms. Then I lowered the rear axle back down and the truck stayed up. This gave be lots of room to get the 10 bolts...

Anybody replaced their rear brake shields?

My rear diff has locked into posi more than once and I suspect that my 5/16th bolt is also lose? "Then reinsert the cross shaft and the 5/16" bolt holding the cross shaft in. A word to the wise, put lock tight on the bolt! Mine was loose when we removed it earlier" yes, I read that thread word...

Anybody replaced their rear brake shields?

I bought the replacement shields last week because mine was squeaking also. I have mine to torn down to the bone right now and if I'm not mistaken I'm going to have to pull the damn axels. I'm really not happy right now...... What a freaking stupid design! ---------- Post added at 05:06 PM...
