I was under the burb this evening replacing the sway bar bushings and noticed that my transmission seal around the yoke is leaking. I was like, wtf - this was bone dry a few weeks ago. Started thinking - just made two road trips to the west coast of Fl and Orl with no issues.
Brief history - I...
Thanks for the info!
Question - Should I jack the vehicle up to change the sway bar bushings?
I can get to them and do it with it on the ground, just wondering if there is any load on it or anything to worry about being on the ground.
Update - - Answer is - not necessary to jack it up. The...
The numbers on the rear shocks are 22755311 - those are searchable and produce results - ended up with GM GENUINE 540631 (same part). Turns out that after 2007 the ZW7 package just used standard shocks - not Nevomats - at least that is what I have read in several places.
The front numbers do...
Looking for a little help/verification that I'm looking at the correct parts.
On Rock Auto, I found part #540-616 for the front (w/o springs) and part #540-631 for the rear shocks - am I right with these #'s?
I would like to get the front strut assembly with springs included but do not see AC...
Took the vehicle on a road trip last week and I noticed that while on t he highway (at highway speeds) when I go over a bridge transition or bump in the road, the impact is more than I care for, sometimes a shudder throughout the vehicle and steering wheel movement.
I think I will start by...
I recently had same code - Bank 1 To Lean - it was a vacuum line that came undone on the left side of the intake, it has a 90 elbow on it. It wasn't throwing any misfires though. The one misfire code I did have (at a different time) was from the heater hose connector leaking onto power pack 8...
Update - after replacing the solenoid and hose/line up front, she still wouldn't take fuel. So I replaced the charcoal can, and that didn't help either. I purchased the entire EVAP hose assembly (on top of tank) and a gm genuine fuel pump. Dropped it all of at the shop, they installed all for...
Sounds like you have several related/unrelated issues. I can only really speak to the fuel fill problem.
Did you have any codes associated with the most recent loss of power?
When you say it won't turn over - does it crank but not fire?
RE the fuel filling - I am in the middle of curing this...
Turns out it was part #12658354
some sites say it's not the right part others say it is. It is the right part.
BTW, the old line and the EVAP solenoid were full of charcoal pellets, so looks like I will be dealing with all that shit next.
I replaced two of the three items - The vapor vent...
I am looking for the part number for the EVAP line in the engine bay that goes from the EVAP Purge Solenoid back toward the rear of the vehicle.
I found other posts regarding this, but the part number provided doesn't fit my vehicle.
2011 Chevy Suburban LT 5.3 (0) Vin
Thanks!!
Born and raised in Miami, moved to the Keys in my early 20s, then back up to Fort Lauderdale in my late 20s before settling down here in Pompano Beach, been here about 20 years now.
UPDATE: I must have called at least 15 shops in Broward County, left messages with most, the five or six I did speak with wanted $350 - $850 to disable the DOD via HPTuners or similar. Then finally, I came across American Muscle Performance in Pompano Beach (my town), they quoted me $200 over...
Im interested - stupid question, but are these the same across different vehicles - I have a 2011 Suburban. Can u send pic of the bar code on side of box?
I called the # provided above Transmission Specialists - the guy said he doesn't do that sort of thing (software disable DOD), I even asked if he had a son named Ryan and he does, but he still referred me to the shop next door - HPLogic WPB ($850 quote btw).
I have called around to at least...
Minor update - after chasing what I think/thought was/is a parasitic drain yesterday and seeing no significant actual drain I started fresh this am.
I currently have multimeter hooked up inline between disconnected neg batt cable and neg batt post. Vehicle is fully asleep. There is a steady .01...
Ok - some corrections and minor updates.
I cleaned the ground wire connector to the firewall yesterday and the negative battery cable to the block today. When testing yesterday, I kept opening and closing the circuit which is why I kept getting the 3.58 amp initial drain. I bridged today with a...
Update #4 - Got the new steel drive shaft, got on the highway - no shakes. So hopefully that has been sorted now.
New issue - I went out this afternoon to do some odds and ends and the battery was dead. Brand new AC Delco battery only about a week old. I definitely have a parasitic drain...
Update #3 - Took it to the drive shaft shop this morning. They say the shaft is definitely bent, was... I didn't write it down but I think he said 1000'ths off at the dent and still 40,000ths off 18 inches out from the dent. So he is going to fabricate a steel replacement. Will use my slip yoke...
The OCD is real. I'm not looking for perfection per se, but I like to be confident that things are "ok". Sometimes going down the rabbit holes is detrimental to my OCD tendencies.
