Check out the post, above your post.... If you need a good honest shop. But it may be a tad too far.@Jeremiah_Yukon02 did u ever find a S FL tuner? I'm looking for someone myself. I'm in Broward but willing to travel tri county area.
BlackBear tune? My kids might know someone up our way, a new shop opened up last year with a dyno in town. I'll check and report back in a few days.I called the # provided above Transmission Specialists - the guy said he doesn't do that sort of thing (software disable DOD), I even asked if he had a son named Ryan and he does, but he still referred me to the shop next door - HPLogic WPB ($850 quote btw).
I have called around to at least four tuner shops in Broward/Palm Beach and these are the prices I have been quoted - $400, $500, $600, and $850. From what I understand this is a simple calibration change - not an actual "tune" - it's like a drop-down, enable/disable - I am specifically requesting just this calibration and no additional tuning. I get the cost of the machine and the credits, shop overhead etc.. - however, at these prices, I could literally just buy the HpTuner and the 2 credits and do it myself - wtf. People on here keep saying "Guys will do it for $50" - where are these guys? I don't want to pull the ECM and send it out. The labor appears to be about 10 mins too.
I wanted to turn the system off in the ECM, but at these prices looks like I will be getting a Range.
That's my old stomping grounds, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale. How about you?UPDATE: I must have called at least 15 shops in Broward County, left messages with most, the five or six I did speak with wanted $350 - $850 to disable the DOD via HPTuners or similar. Then finally, I came across American Muscle Performance in Pompano Beach (my town), they quoted me $200 over the phone, which ended up being $265, more than a range but less than everyone else. He also said I wouldn't need to buy another credit for future engine tunes. It was one hour of labor $155 + 2 Hptuner credits @$55 each - took about 10 mins. Badass Mopar/chevy shop by the way with cammed out/tuned Hemis for days.
