    erratic fuel gauge

Thanks, I read a bunch of stuff on this last night. Gonna buy a set of'em on ebay and throw them in when they get here. I have no prob with soldering a set in. I can't send my cluster out to anyone because imaginary border fees kill us up here.

I didn't even know they had stepper motors in there, will have to look into that.

    erratic fuel gauge

So wifey tells me the fuel gauge isn't working right. Everytime I drive the Kon it seems fine. Then one night she gets home and says "Go look at it now" So I go out, fuel gauge is upside down, pointing straight down. Ok, sending unit is fubared I figure. Drop the tank, put new sending unit in...

Brake fluid flush w/full synthetic. Better braking & stiffer pedal

Swapped them out and then bled them the ol' fashion way, no probs. Apparently they need to be bled with a scanner if too much air is let in. The way the lines run from the ABS module towards the engine is stupid. From one side of frame up and over to the other side, and the way they sit allows...

Brake fluid flush w/full synthetic. Better braking & stiffer pedal

I noticed oil on the driveway here the other day, took a look under the Yukon and sure enough the damn lines are all rotten and leaking. Do these trucks need a scan tool to bleed the ABS after I swap out the lines or can I bleed then normally? And where are you guys getting your SS lines from...

    AC/heat not working properly...help

There are 2 in the rear, one for temp and one for mode (floor, ceiling, etc). I'm not sure on the front as I've never had it apart but since you can set 2 different temps at the same time, I'd assume each side has it's own.

    AC/heat not working properly...help

The actuator is what moves the blend door. When you remove the 3 little screws that hold the actuator in, you can manually move the blend door and check it. If you leave the actuator plugged in while you have it out and turn the temp switch cold or hot, you should be able to see the actuator...

    AC/heat not working properly...help

Yeah it sounds like your actuators. Are both sides the doin' it? rear? When I was havin' problems with mine I read somewhere that they sometimes stick all the way open or closed, sounds like yours. Also low volts caused problems before making them stick. My fronts were blowing all stupid...

    Compressor always on

Well I checked and mine isn't on, even if I turn the a/c on, so I guess I have a problem!

    Compressor always on

Since I've only owned my Yukon for a month, and since it's my wifes daily driver not mine, I keep forgetting to look into this. I'm gonna head into town shortly so I will check and see if mine is on all the time.

    Rear heating/AC

When I bought mine it was only blowing cold. The actuator for the blend door (hot/cold) was stuck on cold. For a quick fix and since I don't need the a/c for awhile I put a screw through the actuator to hold it in the hot position.

    baby seat tethers...

I didn't think my '04 had'em till I read the owners manual and realized they are on the back of the seats down at the very bottom. As for what years, I dunno!

Hot air from vents after heater is turned off

Mine has done this a few times. I turn the truck off and restart and it's fine then. Sucks to have to do it, but it's the only way I've found so far. I think I read somewhere about the actuator goin' to far and stickin' on hot.

WOW UPS are off their tree!!!

We get charged the infamous UPS brokerage fee for bringin' stuff across the border. Funny thing is, they can't tell you how much the fee is? Different everytime. I bought a service manual for $100 one time and UPS charged me $125 brokerage fee! I think they just pick a number out of a hat, lol.

    cold air from passenger dash

Mine too....lol '04 Yukon with dual climate blows cold in passenger side while in motion. Doesn't matter at all what temps are set at, still blows cold under the dash somewhere. It friggin' sucks when it's -30C outside!

Anyone have a schematic or manual of the heater controls?

Now today everything seems normal again. I'm wondering if it has something to do with killing the battery the other day and all the fun I had getting it going again? I was gonna pull the hvac fuses to try and reset it but I've read conflicting reports on that. Some say it doesn't work on '03 and...

Anyone have a schematic or manual of the heater controls?

I'm having an issue with the heat. Noticed today no matter what/where the setting is for the drivers side, even with heater turned off, still getting hot air blowing down on drivers feet? Wondered if it has an actuator like the rear thats not working keeping a door open?

04 kon wouldn't start just click

Everything is working fine now, just got in from bout 5 hours of driving. I was just curious as to why the thing would start after holding the key in the on position for 5 seconds? Do these have passlock like the Grand Ams? My sister has one of those and the key/cylinder is worn which gives...

04 kon wouldn't start just click

So my new to me yukon wouldn't start this AM, bout -24C here last night. Let me start here: realized last night there was no heat from the rear. Took apart the passenger side rear to find the actuator for the heat no longer worky. Being 11PM no chance of buying one so I drove a screw through...
