I removed that mic, the buttons on the dash, the black box in front of the passenger sun visor, the ugly 80s limo antenna on the side glass (inside and outside), no problems with any systems or warning lights.
I meant they don't have to be identical brands. As long as both batteries have proper specs, it should not make a difference. I don't recall identical brands being referenced in the owners manual. Definitely don't use a GM spec battery and one from a Honda Civic.
OP. Online is expensive, unfortunately. You are paying for convenience factor. Where are you? In places like Los Angeles, there are large auto dismantlers outside the city that have Escalade vent caps and roof racks for $50. Not counting your gas $$$ and time. You just have to drive there (in LA...
This is what I do. Tilt the steering wheel all the way down. Move the gearshifter all the way down. With your hands, start at the top left corner of the bezel, grab and pull. Work your way across the top. It's really easy once you do it the first time.
Exactly right. Places like Crutchfield or Sonic Electronix have good customer service and include all the items you need to install for free. Also considering your rig is a 2000, the foam surrounds around your speakers cones may have already turned to dust. 6.5" entry level speakers are...
That's a great deal for a thunder form. I want one for my next project. I have heard a couple of under seat boxes in silverados where the ports faces forward. Sounded good. I don't what brand it was, probably custom.
Seatbelts can fail over time. Dealer prices are reasonable considering the safety of your passengers. Used belts not recommended. I have replaced a couple in my burb. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to my kids to save $80.
Bulbs are burnt out inside the switches. Either solder new bulbs (radio shack), solder LEDs, or get new switches (LMC Truck). Used switches not recommended since those bulbs will burn out eventually too.
Unfortunately, like all mods it's personal preference and the size of your budget. You start with something you like and then never stop tweaking/experimenting. I recommend listening to other trucks like yours at an audio show or shop and listen to other systems to get an idea.
I like the...
Pioneer HU, Focal speakers, and GM speaker wires. One of these seems out of place. Sorry for the sarcasm. Quality wire is not that expensive. Refer to bcae1 or knukoncetpz for recommended wire specs. It is a pain to run new speaker wires. A job I never want to do again in my own rig.
Was an adapter harness used? If not, Could be HU since all 4 speakers cut out at the same time. Unless whoever did the install screwed up all the connections/crimps. Connecting + or - shouldn't matter, it will just play speakers in "reverse" phase or whatever. Like others suggested, check...
