Judder between 20-40 MPH and 1000-1500 RPMs

Judder? Do you mean to say "shudder" as in torque converter shudder?

Is my transmission talking to me?

Run a Superior Tech delete kit. Take it for a test drive with a two-way scan tool plugged in with live trans and converter displayed. Look at TCC slip speed and duty cycle. Slip speed should be no more than 10 rpm at max duty cycle. Also look at engine data for anything unusual like misfires...

Is my transmission talking to me?

Nope, you need a bidirectional scan tool that's capable of rendering live powertrain and drivetrain data as well as perform adapt/resets. Look into Snap On, Autel or Bosch and figure to spend around $400-$600 but it's well worth the investment - pays for ifself in one to two uses...

Do you have a bi-directional scan tool?

Drop the pan and see what's at the bottom then refer to my 6L80 Information thread for the link to the ATSG manual so you can research those codes and perform continuity testing on the applicable solenoid and pressure switches to confirm/deny the DTCs. You'll need to remove the TEHCM to do this...

    will it fit?

Buy the replacement transmission then remove the pan then control body assembly (TEHCM, valve body, IMS, speed sensors/harness). Next, remove the control body assembly from your current transmission and install it onto the replacement. Perform a fast relearn on the replacement once you have...

    2010 Suburban with Transmission problems

All those TCM codes indicate temp sensor & pressure switch failures - the trans temp sensor and pressure switches are integrated into the TEHCM (transmission electronic hydraulic control module) so that, at minimum, needs to be replaced. You may or may not have clutch damage as a result of the...

    GM 6L80 Transmission Information Thread

First thing I'd do if I were you is a line pressure test...Wear in the PR valve should show up there...Refer to the first page and post of this thread for the ATSG manual which has line pressure testing information...If you find that your line pressures are below normal, simply yank out and...

I dont ever rebuild one of those transmissions without one of those two kits or an equivalent. Take that for what it's worth to you. If you think the TEHCM is problematic either bench test it using a DVOM, 12-volt power supply and the Bosch 6L TEHCM test block. If you dont have the test block...

    Transmission Fluid/Filter

As I suspected, you were describing a shallow-pan filter which was used from 1993-1997...All 1998+ 4L60Es in V8 engine truck/SUV applications took the deep pan and deep pan filter, like the one in the Amazon link.

    Transmission Fluid/Filter

I was actually looking for a picture of the filter that's plastic on one side and metal on the other per your description but regardless, buy the Amazon filter and you should be good.

99 yukon - Drive Gear Issue

Transmission is in limp mode where you'll only have 3rd gear and reverse when in Drive. Like @OR VietVet said and you have done but re-check all electrical connections, grounds, the PCM itself, the manual lever position sensor on the side of the trans (if this goes bad or is not connected/wiring...

    Transmission Fluid/Filter

The Amazon link you posted shows the correct filter for your application assuming you have a factory deep pan in a V8 engine application. The filter you described sounds like the shallow pan filter but post a picture of it and we can confirm / deny

    Tranny rebuild Tri-State area

None of us, apart from some flat rate shops, work on weekends unless you'll pay like double time for the labor. Let me know if you simply need a referral to a good transmission shop in the NY area and ill provide a couple places..

    Transmission ID help

Call the dealership and ask for parts - give the parts guy the last 8 characters of your VIN...The parts guy will tell you if you have a turbine speed sensor or not...You need to know this if you're planning on swapping in transmissions...If your current unit has a TSS and you swap in a 4L65E...

No. Not if your RPO code for the trans is M32 and it's original. Do you have a turbine speed sensor in your current transmission?

    4l80e valve body rebuild

Some of the overhaul kits come with a new set of check balls...Otherwise you can go grab one from your local hard parts supplier, probably for free or just leave it out, assuming you're talking about the reverse check ball at the rear of the case. If you're talking about one of the two 5/16"...

$2500 US is doable if you don't have to replace your TEHCM. I just ordered the Lvl2 kit from Circle D for a performance-oriented build that I'll be filming for Youtube in a couple weeks...I may or may not augment that kit with the Raybestos stage one friction set for the 4-5-6 as the Circle D...

2010 Yukon 6l80 slow to engage Drive and Reverse

Drop the pan and inspect the bottom...My guess, based on mileage and symptoms, is that it's time for a complete and total overhaul but you wont know for sure until you get the pan off and have a look-see.

    Transmission Fluid/Filter

No dimples on any 700R4 or 4L60E pans - perhaps you're thinking of TH400 pans...Those had three dimples (early models) then two dimples (later models). The 4L60E pans changed in 2004 when they integrated the dipstick stop shelf into the pan's design...So you will see a step in the area of the...

Shallow pan is appx .5-.7 quarts less than the deep pan; no absolutes...The above are general guidelines but as long as whomever's doing the service follows proper procedure, all will be good.

    Transmission Fluid/Filter

Where are you seeing these filter designations? Are they on GMPartsDirect.com or an aftermarket website? 5.5-6 quarts in the pan (factory deep pan) and another 7 quarts or so in the TC and cooler/cooler lines. Total system, when dry, will take 12-13 quarts.
