09 yukon xl denali engine failure

It happens but once fixed up she'll love it. Did you look into Jasper engines? What does Summit Racing have available now? How about GM Performance?

    6.2 engine rebuild

Generally speaking, the 6.2s have cylinder head issues and drop a valve or seat if the motors get hot. But like everyone else, unless you want it 100% for some special trip or event or a planned availability, keep driving it. Mine is at almost 200K and we just got back from drag racing it. I...

catalytic function not clearing (should I do more parts cannon)

I missed what the fellas caught onto, that you have an aftermarket camshaft and did not tune your truck for it. Of course she throws the code and will never be emissions ready. I don't think an O2 sensor is going to fix that one. A BlackBear tune will. I also replaced my cats in 2018, almost...

Race weight with my fat butt in it and she was on empty too! Three weeks ago she was 100 pounds heavier with a near full tank of fuel. All my tow/recovery gear is in back, a lawn chair, cargo blankets, my oxygen bottles, etc. is still in it. @randeez Just came inside from taking apart the...

    Dealer asked for Battery replacement

GM specifies that when the batteries get below a 65% state of charge they are in need of replacement. It might still be under the manufacturer's warranty for free replacement. If not, get the new one and drive on. Been to the dunes with your truck yet?

    '07 Yukon XL Denali exhaust

Careful when shopping, most exhaust systems for these trucks use 3 inch tubing while our factory exhaust uses 3.5" tubing. Your Y-Pipe with cats is a narrower diameter but does not have a third cat. It also connects to the rest of the exhaust with bolts/studs and nuts. The later setup...

catalytic function not clearing (should I do more parts cannon)

Well, you should use your scan tool to see how the sensors are performing. The cat could be bad as well. Even new ones go bad, especially the Chicom ones. If you want your engine to run in top form, do not use aftermarket sensors, not even Denso unless it comes out of an ACDelco box/bag...

    Useless Information

Ran the trucks at OSW (Orlando SpeedWorld) last night. Both trucks ran their fastest times to date. The 5.3 Yukon XL weighed in at 6,280 pounds and ran a 16.115 @ 86.45 mph. Her 60-foot was 2.399, quickest ever. Off idle launch flashing the converter. 313.7 Rear Wheel Horsepower for that...

Gen3 Gen4 LS Vortec heads info

From idle to about 1300 rpms at WOT before my 6.2 exceeds my 5.3 torque and horsepower numbers. At 1,296 rpms they are both making 66 horsepower and 268 foot pounds of torque. I recorded this data from each truck with the Tech-2 and then extrapolated (filled in) the data between points in an...

    New Headlight Housing

Tons of options, even more than the Yukons. CarID.com is one place. I have a catalog around here somewhere, they put your car in its color on the cover for you and send a couple copies in the mail. I forget the name but someone will remember in the morning that has a better memory than me!

    Greetings from central indiana!!

Welcome from Florida Matt! We were an Oldsmobile family growing up and into the early 2000s. Sure do miss my Cutlass Supreme and Delta 88 and 98s. Post up some photos of the fleet when you can. As for the wrecked truck, it did what it was supposed to do, protect your boy and save his life.

Gen3 Gen4 LS Vortec heads info

My 5.3 makes more torque down low than my 6.2s. If only for a few moments and then they rocket off into space! I too considered 243 heads for a 6.2 build but their heads flow so much better, you don't have to port/polish do bowl work until you are well over the 600 horses mark. My 2013 6.2...

    Towing stability

Whenever you change parts and then have a problem, the best and first thing to do is un-change them, put the old shocks back on or buy a set of ACDelco factory shocks and try again. As for the sway, need more weight on the tongue. The tail is wagging the dog. Load up the rig like you were...

    Ac problems

A new control module must be programmed to the vehicles, they are not plug and play. The Apple Car Scanner app can read BCM codes on IPhones. If you have one or access to a bi-directional scan tool, pull up the internal BCM codes. It will tell you which actuators are bad and why with the...

    Fuel Sending Unit/Gauge - SOLVED

Are you using an app like Torque and an OBDII adapter? That one I know asks for the tank size and it may have a default number. A Tech-2 should read it correctly.

'08 Z71 Tahoe Rear Control Arm Bolt Torque Specs?

Off the top of my head the uppers up front are 140 foot pounds. I seem to remember us just torquing the rears to 74 or so and calling it a day. We'll be replacing them again soon with new ones and hope to remember to report back and see if that setting held up over the years since we did it.

    ABS pump/module, braking, rear diff/axle/hub issue(s)

For troubles such as these we usually recommend putting the truck up on jack stands (4) and putting it into gear to replicate the symptoms, someone is outside near the wheels and driveline watching closely. The lights on ought to be attributed to stored trouble codes and if you have access to a...

How can i fix this error code?

Yes, over at SilveradoSierra, we replaced the light bulbs. During the process, we took the overhead lamp apart and checked all the connections which were fine. Bulbs looked fine too but new ones made the codes go away in our case.
