    I have a serious problem!

At 71, I still turn wrenches on the side for two reasons. I like doing it and want to stay active doing what I like. Plus, supplements. I am only a thousandaire.

Road test, yes. Buy, NO. They have gone way past being worth what they sell for now.

I plan to keep my Z and may decide to do a permanent cover up there, of some sort.

    I have a serious problem!

My 2005 Tahoe Z71 has 166k miles and no rust and has 3 broken manifold bolts with 3 clamp kits. The bolt breaks are pretty common. You can take care of them religiously and still get a broken bolt or two or more. If all the way at front or back, the kits do a great job. The left rear fits the...

    I have a serious problem!

If it has no rust, it should sell pretty quick. You may have talked about any rust in this thread, but I do not recall. Any broken exhaust manifold bolts?

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

Waiting on 2 inner door handles for a 1998 Suzuki Sidekick for the front doors on a 4 door vehicle. Looks like I can replace both of them without removing the door cards, is that correct? I don't really want to remove the cards as they are old and clips may break. One you tube video shows them...

    8.1 liter fan shroud

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. First I looked at RA and found no listing. Then I looked at ebay and found one 1 piece used fan shroud for part #15028050 for over $400 including shipping. Then I tried part #15088326 and found several one piece used for around $150. Is yours a 1 piece shroud...

    03 Tahoe oil leak

Oil sender, valve cover gaskets, intake manifold or that crap oil cooler block off that needs a billet plate instead, like @justirv said. You can use an oil leak dye and a blacklight.

    Transmission output shaft seal/bearing

Wish I would have thought of this approach initially. Way easier than using the specialty tools I linked. Good call.

    Transmission output shaft seal/bearing

Loved the video. I have taken the tail housing off like this and is easier but if you do, then you have to support the transmission body because the mount is disconnected. Also, no need for the special tools I supplied the links for. You do want to have a good seal/bushing driver like shown in...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

This is about my 05 Z71 but not really a "Build Thread" situation. Very intermittently, when using my left turn signal, the cluster indicator arrow will come on solid and not blink or will come on and not blink but will flutter rapidly. 99% of the time, I turn the left t/s off and then on again...

    Transmission output shaft seal/bearing

You do unbolt the driveshaft at the rear diff and slide it out at the front. Make sure to mark the rear of the driveshaft where it bolts at the rear diff yoke so that you reattach at the same position. You need to inspect the outer surface of the front yoke, that slides inside the seal surface...

1998 Tahoe 5.7 crank no start - SOLVED

Badly clogged fuel filters can overwork a pump and burn it up over time. It will also restrict fuel flow and can create pressure problems. The pressures can fluctuate with a clogged filter. Rule of thumb, "Replace fuel filters about every 20k to 25k miles, IMO, and EVERY TIME you replace a fuel...

1998 Tahoe 5.7 crank no start - SOLVED

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. You did not say why the pump was replaced. Was it to fix a crank and no start condition and now you have the additional problem? Was everything ok till you replaced the pump? Did you replace a fuel filter? Is this problem the same problem you had with the old...
