2011 Tahoe lt 5.3 waterpump replacement - SOLVED

Are you sure it’s the pump? In my experience the pumps last longer than the plastic parts in the system. Chances are your leak is either at the firewall where the plastic coolant tees are for the heater core, or one of the plastic end tanks on the radiator if it’s original.

Alternator whine - but its not the usual suspects....

Are all of the replacement alternators you’ve installed so far remanufactured? When I bought my ‘07 several years ago, it had a reman alternator on it that sounded exactly like that. I replaced it with another and it did the same thing. According to the comments on the various vendors’ websites...

2015 Suburban LTZ 1st Off Road Report

This is good info, thanks. What part of the country were you wheelin' in? When I lived in CO, I did a ton of off-roading over some pretty hairy passes, but I had Land Rovers back then with front, rear and center lockers and a ton of clearance from the factory. Haven't been too crazy about the...

The only ones I've seen that require RV's to stop are outside of tunnels. They want RV's to stop to make sure the propane bottles are turned off.

    Third row seat passenger side

I have to slam my 3rd row seats down pretty hard into final position in the floor, when I install them in my '07, or they won't open up. And just to be sure you have the procedure right, once you slam it down into position, you don't use the levers any more. They should just unfold open.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have an older Android head unit in my '07 and they're right about it being vehicle dependent for the button because mine doesn't conjure Siri either. But it responds fine when I say hey Siri loud enough, so that's been fine for me.

Great perspective. Thank you for sharing! Yes, DOHC with dual cam phasers (4 total), is whole different animal altogether. Yessir, I think we're on the same page.

Actual Payloads on 23 and 24 Tahoe with Max TOW package

Another option to consider is to hold out for one of the unicorn 2016-2018 Suburban 3500 HD's that are finding their way into the used market now from fleets. Most of them are LS-trimmed, but you can occasionally find an LT that's been loved. I found a 2018 LT this year and jumped on it. And the...

6.2 ls3 GM performance crate engine

Tacking on a few more thoughts about VVT (this subject is like the oil brand and filter debates from the bobistheoilguy forum, on the LS1tech forum pages), but the facts are these: VVT is worth 10 lb-ft more at 400 fewer rpm with the cam advanced and 18 additional horsepower at 300 rpm higher in...

Are motor mounts easy to replace with exhaust manifolds removed?

Nice! Didn't know they made these. Did you get the Lisle or the Sunluway brand one?

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

They are from Amazon. https://a.co/d/auVukiF Eventually, we would like to have a place that has enough property to build an RV garage, but for now, we are going to stay in our current house in Richmond. We are just selling our second house in Colorado.

When my shocks and compressor were shot in my ‘07, I didn’t get any error codes.

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

I finally installed the crossbars for the roof rack yesterday. It’s a sturdy, well-made rack, but unfortunately I couldn’t get the rear bar to fit in the rearmost ferrules. It was just a millimeter or less too long. For those who may not know, there are only four positions available for the...

Fix and Keep My 2015 GMC Yukon SLT or Get Rid of It?

I sound like a damned commercial for these trucks lately because I'm so happy with ours. The guy who bought my '02 Suburban back in 2018 now has 308K on it, still drives it every day. He's a ferry boat captain and he's also my ex-girlfriend's father-in-law, but he still keeps in touch, which...

New 2007 Yukon XL Denali Owner looking for a service manual before tracking down oil leaks

These are the best family haulers on the planet, so you're in good company with other dads in here in wanting to make your rig safe and reliable for long-haul travel. We love them so much we have TWO Yukon XL Denali's and a Suburban. I can't bear to get rid of any of them. Lol. Just last night...

Coolant Temp Sensor lasts about 30 days

I've seen the wiring near the connector go bad on these and cause intermittent issues. It's a common enough problem that some brands of coolant temp sensors ship with a new pigtail that you can splice in. I bought mine for my '07 from Autozone a few years ago, and it came with a new pigtail, so...

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

+1 on the Suburban 3500. Most of them available right now are LS (lowest) trim, and have been on the market for several weeks - probably because on paper the towing capacity is 3,000 lbs. But that's not because of any lack of capability - same frame and powertrain as the GMT900 generation...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Well, thanks for the update and the new, hard-won knowledge. Can't wait to hear how they ride for you. I'm feeling torn. My factory shocks only have 19K on them now so it's hard to justify replacing them for a few years yet, based on condition. But if the ride really is that much better, I may...

    Coolant Hose Change

Glad you found a solution. For posterity, pushing the connector toward the firewall and squeezing the tabs is the way. I got them off both of my Yukons easily that way.
