09 Yukon 6L80 TC shudder every 20k miles

The CC clicking off is usually caused by a faulty brake pedal position switch. I had that problem on my '07 and a new switch solved the problem.

    Rooster tail removal

Bummer man. Never heard of that happening before on the 6L80. And yes, you have to drop the valve body to remove and replace the rod. Good luck and please follow up with any steps you took. It will help others here.

6.2 ls3 GM performance crate engine

Yup, perfect. And you can use the L92 cam if you want factory specs and VVT, or switch to a 3-bolt cam if you don't care about VVT and want some more ass from that 6.2. Swapping out the cam is easy peasy - especially when the engine is out of the truck. Don't even have to pull the heads - just...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Thank you, my friend! The offer was about $18K under asking price and has a contingency sale, so it's not ideal but we're going to roll with it while accepting back-up offers. Years ago, my father told me that when you're selling something, the first offer you receive will likely be the best...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Thanks for asking. She’s been parked in the garage for the last couple of weeks. Next camping trip is in mid October so I have some time. We’re in the process of selling a house, so I’d rather wait to have the cash from the sale to buy new wheels and tires at the same time. I could put them on a...

What is this plate on my oil pan???

    Nope, not a quick access.

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Seems a plausible theory, but even old stock should last on the shelf almost indefinitely in a climate controlled warehouse.

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Wow, that's good to know! Maybe partly why your passengers were making comments. Bummer about the new fronts - seems like a pretty good strike against their quality control. Which ones did you settle on?

2009 Yukon SLT with Factory Tow Package Cooling Upgrade

As James says, we need to know exactly what equipment yours has already. Check the option codes and get back to us. I tow a 7500 pound camper with our 2012 Yukon XL Denali that came with factory transmission and engine oil coolers, and I have upgraded the fans to the K5L package. I have...

I’ve never even heard of anything like that and I spend a fair amount of time on LS engine related forums as well.

Is This Camshaft Reusable? Or Too Pitted?

I've looked through this whole thread again and haven't seen where you've said which cam you went with. If it's here and I still missed it, I'm sorry for the hassle. What are the specs? I’m asking because any aftermarket cam needs to be tuned to run well, especially at idle. I have a...

2016 Yukon Denali AC Compressor Failure

It’s the compressor to evaporator line. If your compressor failed and spread shrapnel through everything, I think it’s worth replacing all of the lines. Rock auto has it for $72.

    Upgrade package - exhaust/suspension/wheels

Excellent. Sounds like a great setup. As a fellow dad, I get the family cruiser aspect of this - it's exactly how we use ours, too. Best carryall on the planet. I'm 53, so my dad's family hauler was identical to this one. I hope our kids will look back on our trips with our Yukons fondly, the...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Doing a little wheel shopping and have landed on these as a good complement for the Tungsten Gray paint color of the truck. Probably won't order until the spring so I can start the 2025 towing season with a fresh set of tires. Amazingly, the tires that came on it have zero dry rot or blemishes...

Weird rattling noise coming from engine bay

Thanks for posting the video. The only things that may stay turning after you shut off the engine are the cooling fans. Give them each a twirl (with the key in your hand) and see if either of them are the source of the noise. Ba careful though because the fans can still start with the ignition...

2012 Yukon XL Denali 6.2L Cam Swap Thread

Quick update: I forgot to include this part in the list above and I think that oversight has tripped a few people up. It's an adapter harness to allow the factory harness connector (4-wire) that would normally serve both cam position sensor and VVT duty to work with just the cam position sensor...

Is This Camshaft Reusable? Or Too Pitted?

Your new timing cover should have a cam position sensor and there is an adapter harness that will adapt the connector for the cam position sensor (3-wire) to the engine harness (4-wire): https://a.co/d/eobRAnX And...your new timing cover should look like this one (has the cam position sensor)...
