2011 5.3 engine noise, lend me your ears

No, it sounds way to gnarly and fast paced. Did you remove the belt for the A/C as well?

10L80 - filled transmission at wrong temp???

WOW! That is ridiculously expensive. I see your point now. The automakers have been working hard for years to fine tune the "bending over a barrel" process......it seems that with the current newer generations it is starting to be accomplished. I'll stick with slightly older stuff with a 6...

10L80 - filled transmission at wrong temp???

Geez......what a shitshow. I'd probably opt for a new 10 speed, see if GM will work on some sort of goodwill (?), and then have a 3 yr 100k warranty. Personally, I wouldn't but $4k into a used trans with issues

    2023 GMC Yukon AT4 6.2L dead at 10K miles

If it smells like an old car with no cats, then I would assume the flex and ball section of the Y pipe isn't sealing properly. You could scoot under and look for soot trails at the connection point. The only spot you should find soot is on the tailpipe.

    RPM Fluctuation

When the torque converter went out on my 2015 3500HD with the 6.0L, it was doing similar things. I went on the test drive with my buddy at the GM dealer and watched while he drove and recorded slippage. Similar with my 2017 6.2L 8 speed trans with the shudder before the fluid was changed. The...

    RPM Fluctuation

It almost looks as though the TCC isn't staying locked up. I couldn't read the scan tool on my small screen, but the 200 rpm fluctuations seem like that to me. Can you use tow/haul mode at the same speed and see how it acts? Maybe go to the next lower gear and observe as well.

6.6 Gas L8T Engine Swap in 2015 Suburban

Good info. I second the install of the other cats. Can the Y pipe be used? I didn't read through the whole thread again, so maybe I missed that. I would assume that using the bigger diameter pipe as much as possible would be beneficial. Those girls like to breathe

No, they'll figure out how to cram it under the firewall further.......LOL

    OPEN RECALL

I've gotten about 6 reminders on the past 2 years about it for my 2008. It's legitimate, it took forever for the blame game to finish

    2003 Yukon/New member

    1) service ride control is probably due to a bad strut or shock (Denali models and some LT models had AUTORIDE) Plenty of info on threads here about that. If you can get thr code, then we can help diagnose/repair. 2) for the DVD, I'd look in the owners manual under the fuse section. It may be...

    adding a block heater?

Interesting info. I never would've guessed it would set a code in warmer conditions. New cars are getting too smart for their own good.

    2.7 Turbomax

I'm on the fence.......nothing sounds as good as a LS V8 in my opinion for the GM line. I couldn't handle the exhaust note. After riding in an eco-boost expedition, it irritated the heck out of me. But, maybe 4 cylinders with a turbo will sound better than a V6 turbo. (Maybe it was a 4 cylinder...

Engine or tire making spinning metal clank sound

Depending on how long they've been open could most definitely be your issue. If the grease inside attracted dust, dirt, and moisture, there will be a gravely sounding from them. The contamination can also accelerate wear on the components causing time to become more sloppy.

    4WD Issue

Send pics of the cv shaft angles and the front driveshaft. Does the lift lower the differential and have a taller spindle? If it's 3 inches of lift from torsion only, you probably have extreme angles on he driveline which can cause what you are experiencing, as well as much lower life span of...

    Steering wheel locks up

I wonder if you have a steering gearbox with excessive play that is causing some binding. Other than something severely worn in the suspension system allowing a tire to move to a weird angle at that turn

Engine or tire making spinning metal clank sound

Does it do it while stopped in gear with a slight brake torque? (Don't do longer than a few seconds at a time). If not, does it change with speed/being in motion? What speed is most noticeable? What rpm range? What year, make, model

    Steering wheel locks up

Ummm.......does it lock while running? Or after key removal? Sounds bound up to me, if the wheels are left turned to either side

Getting rid of dead mouse smell?

    1. Park away from buildings 2. Carefully remove the spark plugs 3. Leave spark plug wires hang near metal shielding 4. Crank over motor 5. Let ensuing fire take care of the issue I HATE MICE!!!..................except for the cute little fellas running in the field. FAR from my home, shop...

    Should I consider buying a 2015+ Yukon?

The 8 speed is prone to shudder due to the wrong fluid in them from the factory. It will hold onto moisture and cause slippage. If the trans is flushed properly with the new fluid and a filter change it seems to make them work just fine (my experience). Plus my friend who's a heavy GM tech...

Rear Main Seal Leaking After Transmission Rebuild

I ended up with the same deal on my used 2008 Denali. Trans was replaced at the dealership at about 120k. I bought it with 140k and it had an oil leak. Seller said dealership said it was the pan gasket.........it wasn't. Now I just park on cardboard. People who can't see the big picture and be...

    tpms issues

Did you try and learn them in the vicinity of the other wheels and tires? I had a weird issue and ended up just having to drive the vehicle until the tire light came on so the truck forgot them.

6.6 Gas L8T Engine Swap in 2015 Suburban

Thanks for the update! Looks good How has the mpg been? Also, can't the fuel tables be leaned out to get rid of the richness? I know all newer stuff runs rich to keeps the cats hot, but I would think that some of that additional fuel could be scaled back. You'll still have the old school...

Do I have a stuck caliper?

If the caliper had a ripped boot, then youvmost likely have. Frozen/sticky piston that doesn't retract properly anymore. Don't try to rebuild it, just replace it. Might want to do both sides at the same time if the other looks aged

    Where to begin...

It sounds like you have ABS or traction control kicking on falsely. This will/can feel like a power surge due to the fact that it reduces power to the engine during this activation. The fact that its fine WHEN the lights are on means the system is in default, base brakes mode - no electrical...
