    Silverado Y pipe on escalade?

I think the 6.2L has a larger diameter pipe than the 5.3L. If it's the same part number, then you're good to go. Other than potential diameter differences, the mount up should be almost identical

    Wheels spin

Not I. How many miles on the tires? What is the climate you are operating in? I'm wondering if the rubber compound has hardened with age and miles?

What's the highest mileage AFM motor you've seen or own?

Currently at about 162k on a 2017 6.2L. Had #4 pushrod get bent, but replaced the rod and it's still running on the OE lifters. Time will tell....

2018 GMC Yukon XL - Heavy Rain issues

This has nothing to add to the thread, but more of a PSA about driving with hazards on in the rain.........STOP doing that! Your running lights are just fine. The 4 way flashers are so h a r d o n the eyes and distracting for everyone following you in the dreary rain spray that gets mixed...

    Towing with a rental Tahoe

I can tell you from experience the rental company will say NO!!!!! Take that how you will. If your insurance guy knows the details and you have something in writing, then just go for it. It's about a 7 or 8 hour drive I'm guessing. Be sensible and you should be fine. I rented a tahoe in FL...

    What’s your cars name?

Interesting. I've never dug into that yet. I'll have to see when I pull out the radio to replace the touch screen. But, given names are: 2017 Denali (white) - Surpise 2008 Denali (gold) - Goldilocks

    IS AFM DISABLEMENT NECESSARY??

Is it currently stock? If so, then any computer changes would make it run in V8 all the time.......much like most everyone here agrees with. They system you speak of is prone to issues with the lifters that fail on the V4 mode. Dirty oil seems to be the biggest culprit for failure. Keep it at...

2008 Yukon Denali vey rough misfire out of nowhere

I don't believe they have an ethanol sensor. From what I've seen with HP Tuners on my 2008 in the fuel tables, there's nothing there as far as measured content. I think it's all based off the O2 feedback. I don't recall any modifier tables, etc for ethanol on the 2007 and 2008 with the 6.2L...

2008 Yukon Denali vey rough misfire out of nowhere

85 octane is also an issue. These motors can run fine on 87, but definitely like premium or better due to the compression ratio. If you have E85 available, you can make a blend of 25 to 30 percent of total capacity (I go by the fuel used counter on the DIC), and that will give you 93-97 octane...

    Possible front diff failure?

I've noticed that on these vehicles, but not to that extent. I have a 2008 Denali, and I've noticed the slop in the front connection, but I service the front diff religiously since I've owned it. I do get a similar clunk sometimes on a downshift, and I've seen that same thing on other model...

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

They are using 0w-16 I believe on some new Chrysler vehicles per a service advisor I know. Yikes!

2007 denali oil pressure questions. *video posted*

I wouldn't sweat it. Those motors also have 8 o-rings under the valley cover that get hard and start allowing oil pressure to bleed off. Super easy fix. While you do that, put in a new GM oil pressure sender. Valley cover o-rings (or stand pipe/afm oil ports that aren't used on your engine)...

Dreaded Effing lifter tap...... - SOLVED

Well, update as of 10/19. Got the truck back and it runs as good as new. In going over the situation with my dad (master mechanic) he basically said it was most likely cause by a heavy right foot. In thinking back on the situation, my foot was heavy immediately after the situation, getting...

    Wow great mpg

I'm assuming a diesel? Or, if it's a gas motor, how many egg shells did you put under your right foot and try not to break? LOL I would be happy for those numbers. Pretty impressive for a 6k vehicle

Dreaded Effing lifter tap...... - SOLVED

Yep, that is definitely a cousin to the Mazda CX-50. The Mazda 6 shares the same platform as the Ford Fusion which have been proven by multiple members of my family to be extremely reliable. Nice looking rig you got! And 40 mpg is pretty stellar. I did have a Toyota Sienna hybrid van as a...

Dreaded Effing lifter tap...... - SOLVED

You betcha! The Mazda line is something I've looked at and do like the CX-50. The last Mazda I looked at 2 years ago was a Mazda 6. They are made in Japan, the fit and finish is great, and they don't feel the need to change crap up every 3 years to try and keep a customer base. And, they...

Dreaded Effing lifter tap...... - SOLVED

I love / live what you stated @Geotrash Good words to live by, I should be retired early as well based off of similar principles. I have usually done the buy lightly used/somewhat depreciated and then run them for as many miles as feasibly possible. I'm not afraid of maintenance or repairs...

    Engine Upgrade 2017 ppv

@L8T BURB is the guy. He has good insights abiut his project. His thread about his project was full of good info. Personally I would just do a 6.6L HD motor and call it a day. I'm currently contemplating that for my 2017 Denali with a 6.2L that bent a pushrod on #4. It's back running...

Dreaded Effing lifter tap...... - SOLVED

So, got the answer from the Insurance that they won't cover it due there being a TSB about lifters in these vehicles. I figured they'd find a way out of it, just super shitry that it happened sometime in between getting hit and repaired at the body shop. I had my friend at the dealership throw...

New Member - Tim **. - 2019 Suburban 6 speed transmission & sucks touch screen "info center"

Welcome from WI. I have had similar issues with the touch screen and from what I've gathered its GM's best cost cutting techniques at work. A replacement screen is easy to put in (I just bought one for my 2017 with a 2 yr warranty for less than 1 hr or shop time at a stealership). Looks easy...

    2011 Escalade - worth repairing?

Why not get it on the ferry to Seattle and find a clean version of what they have Trade the rusty old girl off and drive a clean, lower mileage version to NC. Negotiate some sort of 90 day warranty into the equation to cover the trip across the good old USA.......Viola! Problems solved(?)
