Service dog - how can I leave the engine running when I'm not in the car for longer than 20 minutes

To the OP... Not sure if its an option, or if you are even interested... That said, Rivian's (yes its an EV vehicle) has a pet mode, where it lets you leave the temp you desire, and puts a message on the screens to let passers by know that the vehicle is keeping the doggo safe. I only mention...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

I am no where near your age at 47, I wish I had the ability to work like you do. My "old" body is just falling apart. Keep up the good work/fight. I miss turning wrenches. It was calming for me, and gave me an escape from the wife/kids/life. Cant do that anymore.

Yeap.. My big block 368CI 81 Cadi Coupe DeVille had those. Running lights, head lights, high beams, and turn signals. It still amazes me that the 81 had a 6.0 Big Block, and 2 decades later, they came out with a 6.0 small block. Big block - bore of 3.8 in (97 mm) and a stroke of 4.06 in (103.1...

If you didnt have a Yukon/Suburban/Escalade, what would be your next choice?

I shopped the GW and W when I bought my Rivian. The interior was nice, I will give you that one. But at the end of the day, I just dont trust MOPAR. I also dont trust GM I also dont trust FoMoCo It says a lot that I trust a new car manufacture, Rivian, more than I trust the big 3. It was also...

Looks to be a Z71? The only issue I think you MIGHT have is the white trucks were known for the paint peeling.

If you didnt have a Yukon/Suburban/Escalade, what would be your next choice?

I have to look at it from a different perspective. I would not own a GM full size right now. I like the 3.0 diesel, but the interiors suck, in my opinion. So in my eye, its if I wasnt able to own my GMC Envoy, or my Rivian R1S, what would I buy? I actually really like the Ford Flex... Except...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

Your biggest thing, with it seems every GM Body on Frame, is if the body to frame bolts come loose. I think I remember that most of them are exposed, so that if they are frozen, its just a matter of cutting/torching them off. But I seem to remember that 2 of them are not fully exposed, and go to...

Its the only thing I run in my Envoy. Its parked a lot, and I dont need the Ethanol gumming/crystalizing up the fuel system. I also run it once a month in my Saturn, to keep the E10/15 crystals cleaned out.. My wife only puts about 200 miles a month on it.

Im not sure the testing processes for the Hybrid battery... From my reading on Hybrid forums, you have to take the battery out of the truck, remove the cell membrane, busbar, and test each battery individually. Its quite a process.

It doesnt.. And the Hybrids still had the AFM/DOD problems as all the other years. If the Hybrid battery dies, the whole truck dies. They are not to bad in replacing at $2500-3500 thru aftermarket Hybrid Battery Rebuilders. But thats still a chunk of change

Stay away from the Hybrid. If you do want one, go with a 2011 or 2012. 2010 was a crossover year, so you never knew if you were getting the old or new. Why not get that Suburban for 7500 that someone recently posted...
