Im going to have to totally agree here. I have never seen an LS engine with considerable amount of miles on it not having matching patina on the valvetrain and tops of the cylinder heads. Drivers side head looks to have a fair amount of miles on it and from what I can see in the pic completely...
Another culprit to the "click" could also just be a burnt solenoid. For those that dont know, a solenoid is literally just a high current relay shaped like a can. The 2 contacts inside it get burnt over time and get caked with carbon which is nonconductive. Sometimes running the key back and...
An AWD system works very different from a 4wd system internally to the Tcase. A 4wd system is not designed to be run on dry pavement continuously. An AWD system is designed to be able to run continuously on dry pavement and that is because the AWD Tcase is very different from a 4wd Tcase...
When you replace the guts of your rear diff or just put another unit in, remember that the axle ratio has to match the old one because the old one matches the front diff axle ratio. When the front and rear diff ratios dont match VERY BAD LOUD things will happen.
Idler arm does NOT connect to the tie rod. It connects to the relay rod and your tie rods screw into each end of the relay rod. The rubber boot does not hold grease. The boot is there to prevent dirt and water from getting into the bearing of the idler arm (Not a roller or ball bearing type)...
How much is "alot"? Which cylinders are misfiring? Do a compression check of all cylinders. And like said before, which engine?(8th letter of vin). We need pics or it didnt happen!!!!
Highly doubt you knocked a brazed joint loose at the heater core with needlenose. If you did, then you are one very talented individual and should not be allowed around hand tools ever again. Power tools would be banned too! :rotflmao:
Yes. First thing I would do it check to see which cylinder(s) are actually misfiring. Could be a bad knock sensor. Could be bad plug wire or ignition coil. Could be ALOT of things but you will need to know which cylinder(s) are the problem children, otherwise you are just guessing.
Speed sensor reporting? When you are commanding TCC On, is this while moving or sitting still? Just because you commanded it on, doesnt mean it is actually on at the solenoid. If you were moving and commanded it on, did you feel it engage and your RPMs drop?
With engine running and warmed up, with radiator cap off (make sure you dont stick your hand in the fan), squeeze lower and upper radiator hoses. This will help burp the system but I suspect you have a leak somewhere. The usual is the Tees at the heater core up on the firewall as mentioned before.
Id replace that fuel filter immediately. It could be your cause of fuel starvation. The hard starts could be your fuel filter or your fuel pump is getting ready to die. But being that you are in a oven, that could just be vapor lock. Fuel regulator is cheap and easy to replace, but i can be...
Its 115deg where OP is? He live in death valley? As soon as that 2001 Tahoe leaves the driveway every morning it is singing the "I think I can, I think can" melody. Good Gawd 115deg! You live in an oven along with your Tahoe bro!
P0131 B1S1 ---Upstream of Cat 02 This is one of the 02's that...
Sounds like voltage regulator is done. But to be sure, start engine and measure voltage coming right out of the stud on the back of the alternator at Idle. Stick positive lead on the stud and negative lead on the battery negative. You should see around 13.8v. If you dont then the alternator...
He aint lying either. Many people dont realize that Auto manufacturers literally are saving money, vehicle weight and space used on building vehicles by virtually eliminating almost half of wire needed for the electrical system by essentially making the engine block and vehicle chassis one very...
Not uncommon at all to end up with a leaking oring for the pump module. The typical cause is the lockring has rotted out (salt is the culprit here usually) or some knucklhead replaced the fuel pump module without replacing the oring on the module. Never ever reuse that large oring that seals...
GM Security does not stop a vehicle from cranking or starting. The security system only stops vehicle fuel delivery after 5-10 seconds of engine runnning.
Externally the 2 engines are dimensionally the same. So the engine will bolt right into place. The problem is that the 2004 engine is a Gen3 and the 2019 is a Gen4 and the difference there is the reluctor wheel on the crank which provides timing information to the PCM. The 2 engines use 2...
OP is getting side load enough that it is cracking the Tcase adapter multiple times. I can guarantee the rear seal on the tranny is leaking into that void area. That seal cant handle that amount of side load. But the rear seal leaking obviously isnt the culprit for the adapter cracking. He...
The engine crank electrical system kinda fools some people because many assume you are just looking for 12v+ and that is not the case. The starter relay needs 12v+ from Ignition fuse E AND the other side of the coil for the relay is looking for a 12v-(Ground Seeking) which is provided by the...
Very common for the oil pressure sensor to develop leaks at the joints of its body. More common on aftermarket parts or very old OEM ones. That sensor is on your main oil galley!
