We lost our 13 year old Shih-Tzu Jack recently. He was a 50 lb dog in a 10 lb body. He used to take on my English Bulldog Chloe, whom I lost in February, (she’s my profile picture) and lose every time but it never stopped him from trying.
We don’t get much anywhere so I can’t say much. Did you try leaving it on before exiting? I’m curious. I know if I leave my wipers on auto they don’t come on during remote start, only when I hit start inside.
Is the video under the rig near the muffler? Is that where the noise is? What have you tried so far? Anything seem loose under there? Same noise in park or gear?
Fortunately it has more weight in the rear than a pickup so that’ll help. I assume it has traction control and possibly grade braking too. How often and what kind of snow will you be driving in? On road, off road etc?
Have you looked in the lifted section for your rig? I believe there are several lifted rigs with Z55 and or Z95. @Trey Hardy might be able to offer advice if you’re interested.
I converse with @Doubeleive fairly often and haven’t noticed any change but, like the gent he is, Wes doesn’t hesitate to consider it.
On the noted topic when did GM go to the 10 speed with the 5.3? From what I’ve read so far it sounds pretty tough to beat.
If it’s bottoming out with new shocks it sounds like the springs are soft. Do you know if he used lowering springs or cut or torched the factory springs? I think a 3” drop is on the edge of doing the free travel mod.
@Doubeleive has quite a bit of experience with 800’s.
Others will chime in. If she has the 8 speed transmission there have been reliability issues reported. Her guy may be saying he sees failures around the mileage she has. No one can say hers is a good or bad unit as there are thousands of them with no problems.
Have a look under the driver door sill and the bottom of the B pillar. I had similar problems, though not the light staying on, and found frayed wires.
I think there’s a difference in mag ride and ARC though. What @ReaperHWK and @Joseph Garcia sre saying is right. I have an 07 Denali and I just got a 23 Sierra Denali with ARC. Usually trucks ride rough compared to Yukons but the improvements in technology made the opposite true.
I think a lot of it is 2 fold.
1) oem parts are expensive so going with a passive setup and saving a lot of cash can feel like a win. Plus when it’s time to replace parts the ride isn’t very good so it’s easy to forget how nice it was originally.
2) Some folks add lifts or lower their truck...
I’ve been wanting to see that function in action. It sounds like the dealer, for some reason, changed some settings though this is a guess. Can you disconnect the battery to have the system reset itself?
Your point about why tires and alignment shouldn’t affect your suspension but the new rigs...
I hate to think that what @petethepug is saying right but that’s where we are these days. I got a kobalt tire inflator that failed so I took it back. They replaced it with a new one that was locked up in their cage. When I got home to use it it had F-33 and R-35 written on it. Now I open boxes...
There are probably lots of them lowered on here but perhaps not burgundy. As Joe said, what our wives want and what we want, or like, are usually pretty far apart. She wants function over form and the cash you’re going to spend may not make any sense to her. Every time she hits a pot hole she’ll...
