Does it do this regardless of the AC temp you select? How about auto vs manual? It may just be the inside temp sensor. It sounds like it’s working well when you start out but acting as if the requested temp has been met so the fans slow down.
Not sure how much this “reset” works. I found it on another forum. It says to hold the AC brand Recirculate button at the same time.
A side question: Does -40 and -25 C feel any different? They both sound like way too cold for this old man to be outside!! lol
@BacDoc ard you referring to the “safe” in the console? I thought my Sierra Denali had it, according to the build sheet” but I don’t see anything like that. Can you snap a picture?
I would think a stock Tahoe and a stock Silverado would have similar receiver heights. The 2” should work well. Especially since what you’re towing doesn’t weigh much.
He’s right about cutting for a 5” rear drop but it’s not a huge deal. Look on YT for videos of the free travel mod. Most would say if you go past 3 inches you should do it.
I did a 2/3 drop with front spindles and rear springs. When you say auto ride I think you’re talking about auto leveling...
Assuming engines are the same size and AFM/DFM work the same (though they say DFM is much better) it seems like it comes down to the final gear ratio but may have other factors like tire size and the weight of the rigs.
The MPG you got with your 2018 is incredible. The highest estimate I could...
Wow! Great looking rig. I just got a new to me truck and the hardest thing to find was an interior that wasn’t black.
I’ve seen some ash/walnut interiors and they look great. Post up some pics of yours.
On your extensive list of mods I didn’t see any appearance items other than tint.
Are you...
I believe you can use only springs up front but I’m not sure how that affects alignment. Out back springs would be used.
To be fair, I’ve never owned a GMT-800 so I’m going off of friend’s rigs that I think used keys. Let’s get @Doubeleive to confirm. He’ll know all that’s needed.
@915_Tahoe can find it if it’s available. He’ll need part of your VIN. Do you have any local wrecking yards? They made millions of these rigs so it may be out there. eBay is also a good place to look.
Can you post a picture of what you’re looking for?
Looks like your towing capacity is 8200 lbs if you have max trailering? An external oil and trans cooler would be a good start and a great addition to your rig all around.
How far are you planning to go? Any steep climbs? Weight distribution hitch?
If the trailer is 7k alone once loaded...
I’m surprised there wasn’t much on places like Marketplace or CL. If I type in my tire size or something close I get tons of hits. Sam’s club has been great for us with tires. Good priced and warranty. Hopefully one of the transmission guys will jump in and see if they can help without costing a...
Each bracket goes to the frame rail and I think are 13mm bolts. Yours may attach inside the wheel well front and back but all that takes is removing a few of the clips or bolts and removing the screws. Put something under it for support and do the wheel wells first to prevent twisting. Give the...
@915_Tahoe is the parts guru. He’ll need part of your VIN. The good news is if you get the cheaper one at Ok’Reiley you can try it in the parking lot and return it if needed. You can also go to a local wrecking yard to look for a used one. $60 for a new one is pretty cheap based on how long your...
Is the transmission worth fixing? What will you do with the rig if it fails? Sounds like your new rig isn’t an option for some reason? As for tires you might look for a good used set. If you go with new ones Marketplace or a used tire shop may get you some money back.
If the 2nd one only lasted 5k miles and was oem I’d say you made a good choice if the warranty is the same. Have they figured out why it keeps failing? My 2014 Sierra and many others had a break causing a leak. I may be off but I think they made a retrofit to solve it.
Like Wes said. I don’t think your shocks should empty when you park. The only scenario I can think of that let’s air out of the shock is after they aired up due to a load, you remove the load and they lower. The compressor should kick on with each ignition cycle for a few seconds but it sounds...
