@Chrismnj I use the autocal and can give you a hand if it seems challenging at first. Want to see this first hand anyways, may end up pulling the trigger sooner than later myself
No direct experience with Procom, just have friends who have built subi's and spend a lot of time there, and a close friend does CAD work for them on the side. I'll actually be at his house tonight for NYE... have any questions? I'll poke him a bit to see if the procom guys have any experience...
Following this also as I eventually want one for my 2500 to help with towing.
Somewhat local, in Jackson and play roller hockey at Winding River, friends live in Tom's River too.
Anyone talk to East Coast Supercharging on 539?
I know a lot of Subaru guys who go to Procom and have a buddy...
Yes OEM retrofits. There are a few stickies that have info at the top of this forum. You can customize the look depending where you get them from and the type of protectors you choose. Not sure who the best supplier is currently... its been over a year since I priced a set
Will never win over the quality of those trucks/pics, but gotta keep throwing my hat in the ring for the non vertically challenged lol
Edited for @swathdiver
That is correct, however all GMT900s come with the 10.5" full floating rear, and 2008+ have the 6L90E trans which helps with both towing and fuel economy. There were some updates to the 6.0L as well... the L96 paired with the 6L90E and a tune is a solid setup for daily duties with periodic towing.
For the GMT800 body style, the 8.1L comes with the 10.5" full floating rear, and when coupled with the tow package with 4.10 gears really bumps up towing capacity (around 12k iirc). The 6.0L comes with the 9.5" semi-floating rear.
Not fighting it at all, the suspension is free hanging to start. You missed the part in the original post where he said he didnt have enough thread and had to compress the bushings. Your method doesnt resolve that.
Many ways to skin a cat
If you want it to sit level after its lifted unloaded, it wont matter what springs you put in, they'll all deflect and make the truck squat to some extent. Helper bags are the way to go IMO (I use Air Lift)
You use the suspension to preload the bushings. With both front wheels in the air, and one side of the sway bar still connected, you put a jack under the control arm of the opposite side. The free hanging side will keep torsion on the sway bar which helps compress the bushings on the side you're...
$2000 in shocks alone is a waste for that kind of truck (unless solely for bling). You're not desert racing or dune jumping a 2500 yukon XL.
Cognito 4" NTBD lift with Fox 2.0s, and a 2" rear block, and dont look back.
Then you'll also have the ability to bump up to 6" and 35s for the cost of...
The BB tune is night & day from stock. I hate myself for not using them on my last two GM trucks... wasting money on handhelds.
Shifting is spot on as well. Stock settings would shift too early and the truck would fall flat on its face at around 60mph while trying to get up to speed on the...
Getting antsy to do "something"... mechanically it's done till steering gets replaced/upgraded, power is done till its paid off and I contemplate super or turbo, still waiting for powerfold tows...
So thinking of trying a slight appearance mod to go with the "MTB" theme. Something like this on...
So a bit more to my story that may help since you're going through the exact same thing. I told both sides I had their emails and voicemails saved contradicting each other, and am done with the games. Gave them by COB next business day to come to an agreed upon "who's denying warranty" and...
