I had that issue with my drivers seat last year. The forward motors in the 2003 seats have that same rod that hooks into the seats tracks. Got it all the way forward only for it to get stuck that way because the forward motor broke in the middle and wouldn’t connect to the rod to move it...
It should work. I’d suggest reading through the entire thread in the 2000-2006 section that talks about the upgrade, though, as I’m by no means an expert on this topic. Theres a lot of really useful information in it. I’m running 20 inch wheels and with taller than stock size tires so clearance...
I don’t see the logic in “airbags will compromise handling when not towing(possibly to a dangerous extent)”…. I run airlift bags on my 2006 Denali xl that has the air assist shocks in the rear end. I run the bags full when towing or loaded up heavily. And when the truck is unloaded, like...
I’m not sure on the vacuum vs hydro boost question as my 2006 has hydro boost brakes. But I do know that to clear calipers for the GMT900 upgrade, minimum of 17 inch diameter wheels are required.
That last bit… upgrading to gmt900 front brakes is excellent advice! I did it to my 2006 and don’t regret it one bit! Those bigger front brakes, with the addition of drilled/slotted rotors and carbon fiber ceramic pads are a heavenly upgrade! I live at 7,000 feet of mountain ski town and the...
The wildpeak AT3s are excellent tires. I can’t speak to them on 22 inch wheels but we put them on my moms 2011 grand Cherokee limited that had 18s. They were loud as hell at highway speeds but in the snow that we get up here in our mountain town, man were they kick ass. She never once got stuck...
That’s way cooler than anything I could make for my truck! Sheeeet, I’d buy the original piece off you if it were to no longer be on the truck if you made another one! Lol. Doesn’t have to be perfect because it’s be way cooler than my current logo :p
Not so crazy. I house sit for my best friends parents quite often to care for all their animals. and they have a fleet of vehicles which I keep detailed for them. They had an old German shepherd that passed in 2021 and she went everywhere with my best friends dad. She was constantly standing up...
First off there’s no such thing as “air spring suspension” on a GMT800 suv. Standard shocks front and rear with coils on the rear axle. If your truck is autoride equipped, option code Z55, that means your front and rear shocks are electronically dampened via the trucks computer. If it also has...
Well I’m a D-U-M-B-A-S-S…… LOL. I hastily opened the new HID last night and didn’t actually put it together….. the two pronged harness doesn’t get used for my truck…. The bulb plugs into the driver and the driver connects to the ballast….. user error totally lol. On the upside the customer...
So a week ago my drivers side HID died. Tried to fire goes pink for a split second and then nothing. Got in touch with Morimoto as the HIDs and ballasts are not quite two years old yet. Three year warranty thankfully. Had to cut the bulb off for their “field destroy” thing. That’s weird to me...
I read through the first couple pages before the OP purchased the engine and thought he was kinda crazy for this swap but holy cow! That’s super cool that it looks like it’s working! I’m in to see the results.
Welcome from Southern California from a 2006 owner. I was just a kid when I bought mine as well…. Do a lot of work myself as well. User error is so annoying but hey happens to everyone at some point! Two summers ago I fired the parts cannon at a weird turn signal issue where my passenger side...
More stupid busy weeks. Still not getting to enjoy a lot of my life lately. Not happy about that. So I’m taking little me time wins here and there. I’m the middle of another 10 day ranch stay. It’s becoming a full time job, one that I definitely did not sign up for and they fully take advantage...
That’s thanks to the complete knuckleheads up in Sacramento…… of sorry.
Anyways holy crap that thing took massive abuse. Can’t believe it ran as far as it did.
What do you mean? The paint protection film? It’s not necessarily a wrap but just a clear thin layer film layer over. Crazy good protection. You can even have ceramic coatings applied to the clear film so that it’s just as easy for cleaning and cosmetic care purposes as any regular high end...
Looks beautiful! The rupes machines are beasts! I have one and it was hands down the best money spent on a polisher. I just had to pull my porter cable out of retirement in the garage. Well not really retirement jsut been using my little torq baby polisher. But it died last night while I was...
No ******* Sherlock…. Lol.
On a serious note I’m trying to figure out how to make that happen… then hopefully the state I can make it work in will be legal to run long tube headers and high flow cats hahah
I live in big bear. We’re only 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles but up in the mountains. Yeah we had a crazy harsh winter. 10 feet of snow in just 10 days. The last time that much recorded snow fell at one time I believe was 1997…. 30 years ago. Lol. That’s long before I lived here. For over a...
any painted plastic part is going to susceptible to damage form rocks and other road debris. All the aftermarket black grilles for these trucks are all the same material and construction. They just all have different branding but I’m sure they’re all made by the same handful of companies. Any of...
