What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My Dad gave me somewhat similar advice. He said "Son, do you think you know what love is? You wanna know what love REALLY is? Scott, love is that white stuff that comes out your dikk, and that's the Gods honest truth." I practically had a seizure I was laughing so hard, because I did NOT expect...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have the 08 brakes on mine. Was a pretty big improvement. I ordered calipers, pads, and rotors for a 2008 Suburban, and everything bolted right up. I did the upgrade in 2017, and I'm about due for some new rotors and pads at this point. I also ordered braided stainless brake lines, but I...

    Electric Fan Conversion Question

And I should have clarified about the harness being damaged. If the vehicle the harness came from was in a collision (even a minor collision) then the wires can become so pinched together that the insulation is compromised and the conductors can be touching. So if one of the trigger wires is...

    Electric Fan Conversion Question

If you can definitely confirm 100% that the coolant temp sensor is NOT defective, and that the pins are in the proper spots, and the harness is DEFINITELY not damaged (scraped, pinched wires ANYWHERE) then I would start to suspect that your guy didn't program it properly.

08 Tahoe - CD Player Busted

Personally, I'd just chalk it up as a loss and trash the thing. Just install a cheap aftermarket unit and be done with. You already mentioned installing an Android head unit, so that would probably be the route I would choose. Just get the proper mounting kit, integration harness, and antenna...

08 Tahoe - CD Player Busted

I still have a CD player in my rig. But I couldn't honestly tell you the last time I actually played a CD. Probably the last time I drove a long road trip, which would have been around 2019 or so. With everything streaming these days, I have endless music at my fingertips just connecting thru my...

21 Yukon bad wheel bearing with only 30000 miles

I saw a YouTube video where they tested out some of these "Torque Sticks" to see if they actually do work. And they actually DO work, sort of. The caveat is that they ONLY work on air powered impacts for some reason. Battery powered impact wrenches still allowed the fasteners to be over torqued...

    GMT800 Coolant hose "Y" connector

Also, I had an new engine (long block) installed in my truck in January of 2023. The engine installer used regular green coolant. I've always used the Orange Dex-Cool coolant. He claims that the regular green stuff works just fine, it just needs to flushed and replaced more often than the...

    GMT800 Coolant hose "Y" connector

On my 2001, the "Y" connector is leaking that's made into the heater hose/coolant hose that connects the water pump, heater core, and coolant overflow bottle. This is now the THIRD hose that's leaked on my truck since purchasing it. I did purchase it in 2005, but still...... This current hose...

    Drivers window controls dont work.

I was JUST about to post this comment. I had this same exact issue on my 2001 Suburban. Mirror controls would work fine, Child Lock worked, but the master window switch did not work. After a LOT of troubleshooting, I discovered that the green wire was not not getting ignition voltage. Right past...

How are you cleaning your Yukon's stock exhaust tips?

I used "Bar Keepers Friend" and 000 Steel wool on the stainless tips on my wife's Traverse Premier. I would imagine that they are the same type of metal. I'd wear gloves though, cleaning that crap stained my fingers dark gray.

2003 Tahoe non Bose stock rear speaker size or has anyone ran Morel Maximo 6.5s??

On the 2003 Tahoe's and Yukons, the rear door speakers are indeed 5.25 inch speakers. But they are mounted on a plastic plate. The plastic plate it riveted to the door which actually has a 6.5 inch opening. A direct replacement speaker would be a 5.25", but if you removed that entire assembly...

    What's it worth?

My best advice would be to go to your closest CarMax dealership and have them give you a quote on what they would buy it for. CarMax usually pays a lot more than most dealerships will pay for trade ins. Best of all, you can sell them a vehicle even if you are NOT buying another vehicle from...

03 Escalade ext cranks then dies

I would try unhooking the battery cables for at least 30 mins before going down any more rabbit holes. After 30 minutes, hook the battery back up and try to start the engine and see if the same exact symptoms resume.

5 lug to 6 lug conversion help please

I believe you can use 1990 to 92 C2500 brake rotors. Has to be 2wd light duty 2500, because the heavy duty trucks had 8 lug rotors and a much heavier suspension. The light duty 2500 was pretty much the same suspension as the 1500, but the back had bigger leaf springs. I believe after around 92...

RENAMED!! The adventures of Chase and his 2006 Yukon XL Denali!! Follow along on my travels!

Glad you figured it out Chase. :Handshake: I can't believe it was back in 2018 that I originally did your cluster. Man, time flies! It's not a huge difference, but I'm sure you see the "hot spots" that you have with the individual LEDs, and they show up far brighter in photos than in person...

    Third BRAKE light stopped working

When my 3rd brake light went out, I unhooked it and checked the voltage at the plug while I had a helper press the brakes. I did indeed have voltage, so I just ordered a new 3rd brake light from Amazon. I don't believe they have a replaceable bulb, I think you do indeed HAVE to replace the...

Changing flat tire, lug nut removal?

I have the same coverage with State Farm and I found out the hard way that they DO count every time you use it and consider it as a "Claim". They won't raise your rates for using it, but they WILL raise your rates the very second you do have to file an actual claim. They more than doubled my...

Changing flat tire, lug nut removal?

I keep a 1/2" cordless impact wrench in the back of my wife's Traverse along with a 22mm deep impact socket to fit the lug nuts. I showed her how to use it if she's ever in a situation by herself without me to help her. In my Suburban, I just keep a 24" breaker bar with a 22mm socket on it. I...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just realized my AC was blowing hot. I looked under the hood and saw a very visible leak in the hose from the compressor to the condenser. Last time I charged it I put a bunch of dye in it. I'm not sure what caused the puncture, maybe road debris or something, but there's a nick in the hose...

Stick with OEM calipers or aftermarket??

Yes. What year is your rig? Mines a 2001, and I think up until at least 01 or 02 they had a T-50 or T-55 for the brake caliper slide pin bolts. They may have changed it in 03, 04, or 05. I upgraded to the 2007 brakes when I ordered my Power stop calipers. I keep forgetting about that. Maybe...

Stick with OEM calipers or aftermarket??

I have the red Powerstop calipers on my rig. They are powder coated red, not painted. They are pretty much just rebuilt stock calipers, but in addition to being powder coated, they have new caliper slides and slide pins, and protective slide pin boots. The bolts that mount the slide pins are...

1999 Yukon SLT 4 door water leak

You can try to check and see if you might have a windshield leak as well. I saw a video online where the guy taped the body vents shut, (the ones on back corners, in the rear D- pillars) and turned the AC on high, but NOT on recirculate. That created a positive air pressure inside the passenger...

Help needed! Multiple cylinder misfire and traction light

Sounds like you may have lost an engine ground. You might have lost the ground for the coils and fuel injector harness. That would explain all your symptoms....
