What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I believe we replaced the ones on our PPV with a set of Monster brand. They're chrome plated, instead of having the thick chrome foil over standard lug nuts. All that foil does is distort, and eventually falling off, leaving you with a different-sized lug nut to worry about when you're on the...

    My 2009 PPV progress thread

Some places have laws against drivers having clear view of monitors while driving, but that's location-specific. I, for one, would LOVE a video 'rear view mirror' on our cars, so would have the monitor/camera powered through a switch on the dash using switched power, so I could turn it on and...

First Post Questions- About to Pickup 2010 SSV

Upfitter accessories tend to be kind of expensive, even used. I'd pull that base, sell it, and replace it with a factory console. They come with, or you can get, cupholders that fit in the front 'cubby'. Heck, you can get a couple of them, and have space for your water, coffee, tea and Coke...

Digging the color. That would look cool parked next to our DGGM Impala SS!

Bulbs - Inside & Out (No Headlight Discussion)

Wow! ~$20 for all the accessory lights is a killer deal. Bonus that the lights look like they have pretty good output. I updated the interior lights on our PPV, but was not impressed with the output, and spent a lot more on the set. Even then, at least we were switching to lights that had...

    Some helpful suspension information

Unfortunately, they make no mention of the Z56 suspension, which most Tahoe PPVs are equipped with. I suspect the SSV may also but do not own one of those, so can't check the RPO code.

Dome lights not coming on when door is open

The PPV doesn't even have wiring for the fog lights. :-/

    SSV question

I'd still be surprised if anything dual they throw under that truck would breathe better than the factory exhaust. I'd perhaps spend my money on a better head pipe, and one removing the secondary cat, but that would be about it. Perhaps they did that, and just went cat back, to get rid of the...

Dome lights not coming on when door is open

Fixed! It turns out the upper half of the 'Dome Off' panel is actually the on/off switch. With the knob in the middle, you can adjust the brightness, or turn the dome lights on full-time, but it's NOT the on/off control. The 'button' is outlined in red in the attached:

    SSV question

Nope, they all rolled out of the factory with a single exhaust. It actually breaths pretty well, so not sure the reason someone would go with a dual. More crap to fall off while chasing drug runners down dirt roads. :Big Laugh:

Dome lights not coming on when door is open

We've recently completed some work on our '10 PPV. The last thing done was to replaced the cracked windshield. We had that done by a glass guy. He did very good work, and is very competent. I don't think he messed anything up when replacing the windshield, but I'm not 100% certain. We also...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Getting the cracked windshield replaced today. You get no respect in a PPV with a cracked windshield. ....and discovered that the interior lights now do not come on. They will if you turn them on from the dash switch, but if you have it set to other than 'full on', we get nothing. I guess I...

    Where’d you buy your Tahoe?

Cop Cars Online. In fact, we've purchased our '10 Tahoe, and our '12 Caprice 9C1 from them, Great to deal with, and they seem to be pretty up front on condition. They even handle the shipping from the Tampa area to our house for both vehicles.

    Tahoe PPV Tires

We're still rocking the 275-60 RS-As. They perform well and have held up well. Haven't autocrossed the truck with them yet, but time will tell.

    LanceD's PPV Thread

The larger diameter pipe can only help. Was it a bolt-in swap, or did you have to modify anything? Looks like the front connection with the y-pipe may not be the same.

    Control Arms and Ball joints

The aluminum lower control arms didn't JUST come on the AWD trucks. We have them on our 2 WD Tahoe PPV. They do save weight, which should help a tiny bit with mileage. They appear just a durable as the steel ones, so I'd opt for the aluminum units just to save weight. Weight counts...

    Broken Motor Mounts

My wife and I replaced the driver's side motor mount on her Tahoe PPV with the Hummer unit. What a huge PITA that was! We pretty much have everything except a lift, but I doubt that would have helped much. Ended up pulling the inner fender liner, which helped. Probably should have pulled the...

    Aftermarket Headlight Options

The headlight modules are not terribly expensive new, so just replace them and add some nice LEDs and things will be much better.

    Front end help

You're likely due for at least ball joint replacements now, especially if the pull has gotten worse. Inner tire wear indicates at least too much negative camber. It sounds like you may have some toe issues, too. You don't say how many miles those tires have on them, or how many miles the...

Tahoe PPV key fob not working

Hmm. Thank you for the reply. I'm pretty sure when I inserted the key into the ignition and tried to start it, the truck did not start, nor did the horn quit blasting. I remember thinking that we may be stuck where we are. I wasn't sure that locking the truck using the door lock would lock...

Tahoe PPV key fob not working

Odd thing happened to us in the '10 Tahoe PPV yesterday. One of our pups got ahold of one of the keys/key fobs, and chewed the plastic on the fob up some. The fob buttons still worked, but somehow my wife broke off part of it at work. I set it on the counter to epoxy back together after we...

    0-100 vid

Nice! Looks like about 13.65 0-100 and about 5.65 0-60. Sounds a lot like our PPV, but I'm sure your front tires adding traction would just smoke our truck.

    Interior lights not turning on?

....that I ALWAYS seem to hit with my knee when I get behind the wheel of our '02 GMC 2500HD!!
