That's what I did with mine yesterday. Added a $20 Amazon camera to a Pioneer head unit. In my previous GMT800, I did a $40 camera/monitor combo in the Onstar cubby that I loved. Wired it to stay on all the time. Funny that people on various forums are against that for some reason. Nothing wrong with seeing your blind spots while driving for $20 - $40.

Some places have laws against drivers having clear view of monitors while driving, but that's location-specific. I, for one, would LOVE a video 'rear view mirror' on our cars, so would have the monitor/camera powered through a switch on the dash using switched power, so I could turn it on and off at will, but would usually run it all the time.

But that's just me.

I look forward to seeing this project completed.

I think I will use a dynamat or some type of sound proofing.
Just back from vacation today, going to get exhaust done this week hopefully

Mine has a cover for the air bag. Not sure how I feel about it but the dealer installed it.
