What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Understood. Both our DDs are ex-service vehicles, so there are holes and scrapes everywhere.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes, lefty, so that explains things some. It's also the reason I carry a H&K P30 SKS. It's a bit wide, but all the controls are ambi.

Anyone use wifi cameras in there Tahoe?

That's so when the radio dies, the car goes into permanent limp mode, and you have to trade it in to get down the road again. Planned obsolescence FTW!!

That's a great feeling, isn't it? The only one better is when the title arrives in the mail!!

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This was when I had the holster to fit my Shield 9mm: Here's how it mounts to the panel: I used thumb nuts so I can swap out the holster part from the mount. I now have a holster for my H&K P30 SKS. The holster and mount is made by American Leathersmith (formerly Texas Custom...

    Carbon fiber trim project

When you lay down a coat of the clear, go over it with a heat gun or hair dryer to pop the bubbles. But yeah, like the others are saying, that's looking nice! Where can I send the panels off our wheel to get done? ;)

I discovered an intriguing little hole and I wanna know what I can put inside it

It's the pressured air access port so you can engage the Otto Pilot!! :rotflmao: Probably a port to allow someone to spray a cleaner/air freshener into the evaporator box. Otherwise, dunno.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just close-ups of work I've done, like the trim around the rear seat and the holster install on the B-pilar. The car is a 9C1, so it has just the flat panel that the shifter bolts to. No console yet, although I'm piecing together a G8 console and floor shifter for the thing. That project...

How fast have you had your tahoe

I would like to get out west of San Antonio in something other than our 2500HD diesel.

How fast have you had your tahoe

Some are, others, many think they are. We live in the Houston Metro area, and most speed limits around it are set at 60-65. We only saw 75 on the way to Arlington to pick up a trailer. But yeah, with the cruise set at 75, I was still getting passed.

PPV 17" wheel center cap bolt size

Get replacement captive nuts and peen them in after installing: https://www.mcmaster.com/captive-nuts Or, if the ribbing is gone in the wheel, maybe use rivit nuts? https://www.mcmaster.com/standard-rivet-nuts I'd use an anti-sieze on the threaded part after installing, though, so the bolts...

How fast have you had your tahoe

I've only been to about 75 in our truck. My wife, OTOH, I'm sure has seen 3-digits. :rotflmao:

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The DOD in a 6.0 is no worse than a DOD in a 5.3. There are plenty out there that have never had it done. We had a lifter and cam replacement due to DOD failure, at about 46K miles while the car was in service. It's been fine since, and now has about 85K miles on the clock. Our Tahoe, though...

How fast have you had your tahoe

Under light throttle, they're tuned to get into higher gears quicker, so yeah, you're probably in 3rd by 15 MPH.

    Who’s dealt with Asia Motors?

There will be evidence of rust under there, but most of the parts are well painted or stainless. The only big issue I've had with our 2012 Caprice is the flex joint near the end of the exhaust system. I've since replace my exhaust, but other than that flex joint, and the bolts securing the...

    Who’s dealt with Asia Motors?

Sorry for the hijack, but I feel compelled to respond: They are great rides, and yes, kind of rare. Parts are starting to disappear from dealer shelves, but many of the drivetrain and suspension parts from the Chevy SS, Camaro, G8 and GTO can be mixed and matched. If you are more interested...

    Roof holes

Nice find! If I didn't have access to old antennas, I might have gone that route, but hadn't seen those before your post. Our Caprice has 5 holes in it on the roof and trunk lid, our Tahoe has 2, and our Camaro has 2. I still have a plastic plug in the roof of the Camaro, so I might get one...

    Roof holes

Hasn't happened yet, and we've both been DD retired service vehicles for at least 15 years.

    Violence against police.

Same here. We try to be aware of our surroundings, and usually carry when we're out. I installed a holster on the left side of the console for my wife's CCW, but I usually carry mine. And my wife usually has a 'Coroner' sweatshirt hanging in the driver's side back window. :D

    One tire blew...replace all 4?

5,000 miles isn't much, but how many years? If they're much over about 4 years old, I'd be considering replacing the whole set.

    Driving a ppv tahoe

We save lives!! I can't tell you how many times we see a car go by when we're in a parking lot, or pulling out of our driveway and see the driver and/or passenger(s) reach for, and fasten their seat belt. :favorites37: But when using Wayz to navigate to a new place, we frequently hear 'be...

    Roof holes

I used old antennas to cover the holes. They have o-rings to seal against the body to prevent leaks, and do away with the stupid plastic plugs that eventually weather and crack: The large flat antenna is, I believe a GPS antenna that I used to cover the light-bar hole, which was about an...

    New Exhaust Manifolds

Why are you replacing the manifolds? They're pretty stout, and I don't think they're prone to cracking. Did yours warp with the broken bolt? I think I'd opt for shortys if that was the case. But that's just me.
