    Loose steering still....

What's the status of the EVO solenoid on the PS pump? Is it hooked up or bypassed? I've found this solenoid to be very erratic. Suggest diconnecting and driving around a bit, steering will be full blown assist, but will be consistently smooth, ie no pull or jerking of wheel. Tbruz

Might be buying a 1997 Tahoe this Sat. need input please

Any service records available?? You say you "dont want to be replacing trans or rear ends or motors." Truth is all three of these items are very real possibilities in a Tahoe with 189K miles. Do yourself a favor and check tranny fluid color, and review any records for intake gasket work...

    Steering will jerk while cornering.

If you have EVO sensor on back of your PS pump, try disconnecting it and drive around/park. This will give you full power assist regardless of your speed. If this corrects your problem then find a replacment EVO. If you still have heavy steering with no EVO connected your problem could be a...

I need Colder AC; 97 Tahoe

Update 7/11/13 Evacuated and opened up the system to find NO orifice tube installed. The new AC Delco condensor is made incorrectly in that the lower tube has wrong inside dimension and an OT will not fit in. Vendor found an article with similar issue and sent me another condensor, same PN...

1996 to 2000 AC Delco AC condensor new style

AC Delco pn 15-6958 New design parallel AC condensor. Will work on 1996 to 2000 5.7L Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade with Front/Rear Air only. I purchased it and had it installed for one day before discovering it will not work with Front air only(orifice tube) system. Lower tube is too small to...

    Rear AC Block Off Question

Front only AC system is 36 oz; Front with Aux Ac(rear ) is 64 oz. You should evaluate where/how you are blocking the rear off. The front only systems( which I have on my 97 2 door) have an Orifice Tube in the liquid return line(lower line) of the condensor. I believe the front/rear...

I need Colder AC; 97 Tahoe

Update: The label on the accumulator( which I assume was factory) has a 3 LB fill sticker. Every thing I read says 2 to 2.25 for a 1997 2 door with front ac only. So I evacuated and recharged again this time only going to 2.0 Lbs; 49 degree air from the vents; was at 60 degrees yesterday...

    Steering will jerk while cornering.

Disconnect the EVO sensor on the back of PS pump and drive around for a week or so; if the jerkieness is gone; problem is identifed. You can either live with no EVO assist(which is really full power assist at all times when EVO is disconnected) or locate a replacement sensor(NLA from GM) but can...

Deceleration issue; Tranny, TC or TPS?

No SEL or CEL; No Codes stored either Thinking more about the acceleration part; it really isn't very good; wouldn't quite decribe it as shitty but certainly not a "neck-snapping" peppy acceleration either. Thanks Tbruz

Deceleration issue; Tranny, TC or TPS?

1997 Tahoe 4x4 2 door with 125K miles; regulary gets 14.3 to 15.7 MPG. Truck shifts smoothly and accelerates fine(maybe a little sluggish in the acceleration department) I'll be cruising along at higway speeds, 55 to 65, with no issues. If I need to decelerate to around 45 MPH, then try to...
