What do you consider normal oil pressure?

They do not unfortunately. My AFM is disabled and it still idles close to 20. Besides that, even with AFM equipped vehicles, the ECM is programmed not to enter V4 mode at idle.

Leveling kit, tires, wheels, grill installed- 2015 Yukon

Looks excellent. Completely changed the look of the Yukon. Are you planning to remove or trim the air dam?

    Wheel figment question

It'll be a pain, but you can buy them, dismount the 305/45r22s, put them on stock 22s, then sell the 22x14s. That tire size at stock offset and stock rim width will fit with a level and minor trimming. But on a 14" rim, no way.

5.3 Engine Tick well above Idle

It might be worth a try running some Seafoam through the brake booster vacuum hose. If it were a carbon issue, that might dissolve the carbon. Do you have a mechanic's stethoscope? If so, have someone rev to 2000 in park and see if you can further pinpoint the noise.

What do you consider normal oil pressure?

09 L76, I don't think I've ever seen 40 at idle. It's usually 20 at idle, 40 or a bit below cruising on the highway like the above poster.

    Transmission Fluid Flush??

Thanks again for your help, I'd still be scratching my head about how to get the pan off without your awesome write-up. I chose ATP because they seem to have universally good reviews. The low price was a bonus too. What gasket/filter did you end up going with? The gasket I got was well-made, the...

Alternator whine on nearly new alternator (not speaker whine) - any ideas?

It certainly is that one. I didn't even think to check the product description again. Thanks so much! Let's see if Remy stands by their warranty claim.

Alternator whine on nearly new alternator (not speaker whine) - any ideas?

Hi Mark, It's a Remy alternator, and I bought it on Amazon. I've spoken to a customer service rep, they told me that auto parts returns or exchanges past the window are generally never approved, but I'm waiting to hear back.

Alternator whine on nearly new alternator (not speaker whine) - any ideas?

I recently replaced my alternator with a new one to fix the flickering lights issue. This one fixed the problem, charges the battery just fine, but has developed an extremely annoying high pitched whine that follows rpm. It's not coming through the speakers, it's coming from the alternator...

    2008 Z71 Suburban, 7.5" Lift, 35s No Trim, More

Nice Suburban, looks just as high as the Silverado even with the lift/tire size difference. Good warning on the RC kit also; seems like they're hit or miss with quality. How is the ride - I assume since you're looking for stiffer shocks that it rides close to factory plushness? How's life in...

    Transmission Fluid Flush??

Thanks for posting, good tip for sure. I'm going to get some extra clips and just keep them in the glovebox just in case.. I've found a set of 2 for $7 on eBay but more likely I'll just go to the scrapyard and sneak a few out from NBS trucks.

    Transmission Fluid Flush??

Well, I tackled this job today. Not going to lie, it was pretty frustrating, especially for a shadetree like me. I'll post my experience, hopefully it will help someone out. It took me about 4 and a half hours. Breakdown of costs: 4 gallons ACDelco Dexron VI: $24x4 = $96 ATP gasket & filter...

    Need more rear lift

I love Tahoes with no molding, no boards, and no air dam. Looks great.

    Need more rear lift

I had the same issue - Installed a leveling kit, front was higher, installed a 1" rear spacer, leveled it out, then decided that I like a little rake and replaced the 1" with a 2". A 1" will not cause any issues with shocks, sway bar, or brakes, but be careful when installing, because removal...

    Rate my deal please...

Nice Tahoe! You got a killer deal. No, the 6.2 was only offered for the Tahoe in 2009, and I believe it required the LTZ trim.

    Oil Leak around filter?

Gotcha, I see what you mean now. Thanks for the pic and explanation.

    Oil Leak around filter?

Not sure I understand, do you mean a bad rear seal of the engine (where the torque converter is) or a bad rear seal of the transmission (where the driveshaft is)? The oil filter and diff are nowhere near each other.

GM CK916 22" Wheels w/ tires, TPMS, center caps

A few more pics and pics of them on the truck. Here is the other area of curb rash. Here is where the paint is peeling on the drum of one rim. The rest look like the picture above.

GM CK916 22" Wheels w/ tires, TPMS, center caps

With the way I drive and the places I drive, unfortunately I don't foresee putting these back on. I'll miss them, they turned a lot of heads and got a lot of thumbs up when they were on the truck. There is some curb rash, the worst of which is pictured. Some very minor defects on the chrome...

Bose Premium - possible to replace stock sub, keep all else the same?

Replying because I'm also interested in the info. Not necessarily for me, but so I can pass it on to the audio shop so they can install a sub.

2009 Yukon Rides like crap! Help!!!!

This is just anecdotal, but I'm not a fan of Monroe shocks. I had them on my old Dakota for about 5000 miles, and the stiff ride drove me crazy. I replaced them with KYB shocks, much better.

    AFM problems?

Yeah, the gas mileage loss from deleting AFM is negligible. Even with my 6.0, I can average 19 or 20 mpg on a long flat highway (provided I can keep it under 70). With AFM it might have been 20.5 if I was lucky.

    Water pump time

Just curious how you found out it was the water pump rather than anything else. I have a bothersome noise that seems to be coming from the front of the engine too.
