    Engine Hot Warning/AC Lockout

I've heard it both ways but in my case, we could only find one sensor and yes, there were two outputs.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The 2500 'Burb is officially de-jankified with the addition of new headlights to replace the one that leaked, a Dorman driver door handle that is steel reinforced so it doesn't break when this fat-ass gets in the truck, fender flares, and a skid plate underneath. Also installed a new temperature...

    Engine Hot Warning/AC Lockout

PO128 is what we're getting. Gonna try two new sensors tomorrow. The thermostat we put in yesterday is for 187 degrees, which would match the replacement GM so I'm going to leave it alone for now. Of course, it threw the same code again last night and kept displaying it this morning on startup...

    Engine Hot Warning/AC Lockout

You're close, Mike. Found a bit of info over on the silverado/sierra forum. Seems mild (neither hot or cold) temps screw with the two coolant temp sensors (one for the gauge and one for the ECM), causing the ECM to assume a failure when it sees a delta T across the two sensors. AC/Delco or GM...

    Engine Hot Warning/AC Lockout

Well here's a new one. Got a notice in the DIC that the engine is hot and AC is turned off. The temp gauge goes to zero. Now I'm driving in 60 degree temps and not using AC. There's no indication the engine is actually hot - anti-freeze is full, no discernible leaks. Parked the truck at work...

Help trying to figure out chirping noise

Here's an out-of-the-box idea - check your parking brake pads. I had a chirping/clicking noise coming from down under - chirping when the windows were down, clicking with the windows up. Turned out my parking brake pads had completely disintegrated, coming off the backing metal. One side fell...

2013 Suburban About To Follow Me Home

And you thought the government was inefficient... A set of the stock-looking fender flares from Real Truck to keep the rust on the rear wheel wells from spreading (hopefully). Evansville, Indiana to Chattanooga, TN

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally got the fluids in the diffs and transfer case changed out. Leaking pinion on rear diff may not have been leaking - some dummy overfilled it previously. Filled to level and we'll see if it continues to leak. Rear Timbren bumps/auxiliary springs inserted where old bump stops had rotted...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Oil change and new parking brake shoes on the 2500. Driver side liner had separated from the metal, which explains the click-click-clicking I've been listening to for the last two weeks. Diff and transfer case fluids week after next - no time next week.

Can I level front with bilstein 4600

I'd be curious to know what you've been reading but the only reason I know NOT to level is if you're towing, which you say you aren't. If it was me, I'd level away but with the 5100s, especially if you can exchange. Probably less expensive than 4600s and spacers.

Epic road trip after action report - high-mileage 2500, 35-foot trailer, in the Rockies

Music to my ears. Making me feel better and better about my new 2013 2500 every second I'm reading this. I'll be pulling less trailer than that next year when running the Oregon Trail and going up through the Canadian Rockies even if we upsize to a Lance 2075.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'd be all about a grab handle on the driver side A-pillar. With a mostly-numb left foot, even using the running board is an adventure. I can see how the handle broke, just don't like it.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Sold it - the 1500, that is. Now have money to finish the work on the 2500 ahead of the plan. Fender flares will allegedly be here tomorrow - hopefully those keep a little bit of fender rust at bay. Drive train fluids, new tow mirrors (the ones on it only fold the wrong way - what's with that?)...

2013 Suburban About To Follow Me Home

So after we installed the aluminum radiator and got the cooling system sealed, I pulled our Winnebago 1706FB back over the hill towards the rifle range where I camped in August during a match. Didn't unload the trailer other than sweaty clothes and a few items in the fridge when i got back so it...

    Torsion Keys?

Whilst installing new Bilsteins on the 2500 Suburban today, we noticed some aftermarket torsion keys on the front. Driver side key adjusted properly, screw remained vertical as the screw was moved up or down. Passenger side pivoted outwards toward the frame as it was adjusted. No observable...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The 2500 Suburban got new Bilstein 5100s and front bump stops today. Rides as new, if I knew what new felt like. The old shocks were originals - you could push and pull 'em with ease. Oil change, differentials and transfer case fluids are next in 800 miles; need to fix a rear pinion seal while...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got a full transmission service/flush and installed the backup Cold-Case aluminum radiator in the 2500 'Burb this week. Wife noted the need for shocks as we drove to and from a gathering last night. They were next on the list anyway. Put the 1500 up for sale. We shall see. I'd like to recoup...

2013 Suburban About To Follow Me Home

Thanks. Finally did a deep dive with my mechanic on the new beast yesterday. It's in about the same shape as the 1500 'Burb was when I got it. Leaking radiator, needs all fluids changed out, and new shocks and bump stops. That's really about it. Good news is I still have the other aluminum...

2013 Suburban About To Follow Me Home

So the skies parted long enough to mow the lawn and snap a photo. Black on black (leather) with drug dealer (or secret service - who ya wanna be associated with?) tint. Hope to get more after I get it cleaned up a bit. And it quits raining.

How many miles are too many for you when you buy used?

And just to prove my point in my previous post, I'm buying a 2013 Suburban 2500 with 200k on the odometer.

2013 Suburban About To Follow Me Home

Bought a truck for our 46th anniversary. Found a 2013 black on black leather 2500 from an older Florida couple who had it since new. Used it to tow a boat to and fro, so there's some surface rust here and there which I'll get cleaned up. 200k miles, runs out fine, no issues. I'll pick it up...

How many miles are too many for you when you buy used?

Bought my 2011 Suburban with 231,000 on the odometer. It was an Atlanta car with a fair amount of service receipts but not great. Had my mechanic check it thoroughly and among other comments he said the engine was the quietest 5.3 he's ever heard. Said the shops manager's 2020 Silverado makes a...
